Always love your videos. I am also a hockey mom. Since many children participate in travel sports and competition activities maybe that could be a savings challenge bundle. The tuition, equipment , hotel, fees etc. Make it versatile for cheer, dance and gymnastics too.
Don't forget the butchers!! One of my local butchers has a deal with farmers in the country and he will sell the cow for them in his shop. I get this mixed box of beef, pork, and chicken from the butcher and if I ask, he tells me which farm it came from.
You mentioned Halloween candy. So I have, what I think, is an interesting story about that. I give out full size Hershey bars each year for Halloween. Besides the joy of watching little kids eyes light up, I do it because growing up, Mr. Hunter, the neighbor across the street from where I lived, did and I always remember how generous and thoughtful it was. Each year the numbers have grown. This past Halloween my husband and I handed out 974 Hershey bars. At $34 a case of 36, you can do the math (I don’t want to.lol). We started at 6pm and ran out at 7:45pm! People continued to fill the sidewalk until 9:30pm and I felt bad we had to turn out our lights so early. It was crazy! Anyway, my mom passed away last week and I just returned last night from PA to lay her to rest. At Church, Mr Hunter, who’s now in his early 80’s, walks in to pay respects to our family. He comes up to me and I remind him who I am and how he impacted my life with such a simple gesture. I told him I give out the candy to honor him and his generosity every year all the way from Orlando. He began to cry and I wasn’t sure if it was because of mom or I embarrassed him with my story. Two years prior we sold the family home after 66 years when mom moved in with my sister and to see him walk in, after two years, was completely unexpected. I never thought I’d see him again. One of mom’s songs during her last mass was the Prayer of St. Francis. One of the lines was “🎶It is in giving, that we receive” and it just really hit home for me. It’s was so incredible to come full circle with something in my life and I just thought I should share it. 😊 In the spirit of giving, Merry Christmas everyone.
I’m looking forward to the challenges. I’m in savings mode for the next little bit so perfect timing!!!
You are literally one of my top 3 favorite cash stuffers. So relaxing. I get a drink and a snack and make an event out of it. lol
Absolutely love that you advocate to purchase fresh meat from local farmers- it makes such a huge difference 💙
The picture is nice, the sound echos a little bit, but that is minimal. I cannot wait for the savings challenges. Have a great week!
I’m the Heidi you said hi to on your insta live! Thanks for your video! ❤
