- How to bypass Audi MMI not working. Navigation stopped working which caused all audio to stop working so I bypassed the Navigation with a fiber optic MOST cable. The Navigation no longer works but at least I now have sound and can listen to my radio. All you need to do is unplug whichever item is not working (in my case it was the navigation) and plug it into the fiber optic MOST cable (loop).

My car battery was flat and water in the boot on both sides. All fuses okay but no mmi. Any suggestions where should I start ,water problem has been fixed and everything is dry
Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience with MMI problem! One day for my car died a battery and for a while i didn't have a chance to charge it! When i charged a batterie the car running normally and everything is working but then i wondered why my MMI is not working! I searched everywhere a information and i couldn't find my problem! MMI was completely dead! I tried all video but nothing worked for me! But then i start to check optical cable and understand that he is not getting a power! I have audi a6 4f kombi and fuse i have back in the trunk and i start to check it! The first fuse what is for Digital Signal Processing (DSP) /
BOSE amplifier 30a was burned of! I change it and It was nothing! I couldn't get it what was wrong still! Then i start to search a fuses diagram! And i found it's in front on right side too fuses for MMI! I start to check and there i found one more fuse what was burned! It was position 12 Media drives, front (MMI) what is 5a! Before guys you are a taking a part a car please check a fuses because you don't need to do more work as you need! For me was only burned 2 fuses but i almost taked a part all salon! Repaired my MMI with a loopback, 1800.00 dealership repair, I repaired with 27.00 dollars, I ordered and installed, now my radio, CD player and reverse camera works..

Mine finally turns on when I do the fiber optic loop. But theres no audio.
JAIME C Not sure what you issue could be. Maybe you connected the loop to the wrong component.
@@jasonpatterson7266 it was the amp on the trunk. These cars are famous for water leaking on the left side of the trunk where the amp is located
JAIME C ok. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I didn’t see your comment. Glad you got it figured out. A “new” amp from the junkyard should be a good fix for you. Hopefully that’s where you got one.
@@jasonpatterson7266 the aps that come with bang&olufsen systems are not compatible with just any other replacement amp. It has to be re programmed to comunicate with your car. Fortunately I found a guy on UA-cam that fixes audi/vw amps
JAIME C ok. Understood. You have the fancy sound system. Glad you got it figured out. Your fix wasn’t nearly as cheap as mine though. And I had to sacrifice my navigation to make my sound work (because I bypassed the navigation that wasn’t working).

You mean the fiber optic loop is not working? If not, maybe you are not isolating the correct item!

Mine is having maybe the same issue, it turns on half way untill i see the MMi logo and then shuts down.

No. Mine came on but there was no sound. Now I have sound.

So what exactly did you do???
I had no sound. It was because the Navigation unit is bad. So, I bypassed it using that little loop cable and now my radio has sound again. I don't care if the Navigation work because I use apps on my iphone. So, the Navigation is still broken but by inserting that cable, it completes the fiber optic circuit and allows the sound to play. Hope this helps.
Couldn’t explain it any better I also had same problem just removed my amp which was causing my electrical draw years now I’m ordering a fiber optic for the amplifier

@@abodmuna1624 I don’t know. If your radio is not working and you have this stack of components in your trunk, you should be able to identify and bypass which one is not working so that your radio works again.
Hey mate if your MMI is completely dead check at he first a fuses what is in front and a back side! for me MMI was completely dead and i couldn't do nothing! These method is working but at the first check fuses because can be one burned down! For MMI is 3places where is for him a fuses! Back side behind the panel in right side, driver side but there is for MMI display, and for right side there is one more leading fuse what is answering about the circle! On right side front check black fuse box and fuse nr 12 or 10 if they burned can be optical cables is not working!

What are your symptoms? I had no sound from anything. I had to identify which of the items was not working and causing the fiber optic loop to be broken. Once you identify that item, plug that loop adaptor into it and it should fix it. You might have to try all of them until you find the one that fixes it when you plug into it.
