My wife was born here 66 years ago. Not a lot has changed it is still a special location to live. The River Crouch offers so much to outdoor enthusiasts. I joined the local rowing club 8 years ago and just love the coastal waters. It is a community that takes pride in looking after the town, hence no litter nor graffiti. Quintessential England where strangers are happy to say good morning yet and respect each other. Furthermore it’s on the commuter belt of London which is the best of both worlds restaurants museums theatre etc.
A friend an l would cruise around from Great Wakering Creek , moor up and have a beer and a ploughmans. Needed to keep an eye on the tide though to make sure of returning…..that was about forty five years ago now….those were happy days.….
My daughter was born in the old maternity hospital fifty eight years I haven't seen the town for fifty years as I live in Devon now it is still just lovely thank you for the memories
Hi I found out later in life my mother was adopted from the hospital she told in her later life , found out some paper work then it was on call the midwife episode in the screen acting in words , I use to walk pass that area every day when was a child curious of the old property I don’t know if it remains their now friends played around that area .
Absolutely appalling camera work. You did the whole of the High Street and showed only the cars! You completely missed the cottage where I lived for 4 years as well as 4 pubs and the majority of the beautiful architecture.

Thanks again for stopping by!
Is Burnham-on-Crouch, the same town which is on the way to Bognor Regis and Chichester?
No, I think that's Barnham you're referring to.
