I agree 100%. I used to work for the local council and nobody is ever held accountable and people with professional qualifications continue to waste money and end up getting promoted.
I agree on the inadequacy. I disagree on your idea of the private sector being any different. The private sector is exactly the same. Just more expensive.
17000 missing asylum seekers with no legal way to work, and no interest in engaging with the process, makes you wonder if they're breaking further laws...
The system is broken. What would you do to survive if you could not work, had no accommodation, and could not access state benefits? This system is creating thousands of people liable to be exploited by others with ill intentions. Rather than question whether the missing people are "breaking" the law, you should be questioning whether they are being exploited by criminal networks in the UK. They are vulnerable people, not criminals.

At least he is brutally honest. The problem is not the Home Office but the law itself. If Britain continue to offer generous benefits to asylum seekers then don't blame the Home Office. It's akin to flogging a dead horse.
To have an interview like that with a hot shot lawyer asking very relevant questions . The answers need to be credible .. This amounts to a high level of negligence in public office. Value for money no.
It won't make any difference who's in government. This is the civil service and they're actually the ones running the country. Unless a party comes up who is specifically saying they will cull and reform the entire thing voting is pointless.
No they are not. They won't receive a penny from the state. The are illegal and therefore don't want to be noticed. Unless you are talking about the home office/government then you are completely correct

Its job is to process the claims. Its only now tracking where they are because of the inability to process claims due to a lack of funding
And how would you do that? Electronic tag? Phone tracking? Whatever, the civil liberties lot wouldn't like it.
@WhatsTheTrip-tp6ve no there is a lack of funding to deal with the issue and also as Labour said the Home Office is broken and not working
