- If you've been waiting for an electric car that doesn't look and feel like it was cobbled together in someone's garage, Nissan presents the 100% electric Leaf. Is it a vehicle that works for the average buyer? Tom Voelk takes a look at a top of the line SL model to find out.

i like the back lights on this way better
@DrivenCarReviews ... That's good to know, I live in Canada and I heard that this car's battery will drain off like crazy in cold weather in order to keep the interior occupants warm, but it's a big step towards greener transportation ... BTW, I enjoy the toilet paper test everytime !!!
nissan really made a big wave with this leaf
After Driving the "SPORTS WAGON" Caddy CTS-V to this Electric wagon it's like night and day I would imagine. I can see this as a second car or even the main car in a family that has basic errands and if work is close enough. I would love the part about NO OIL changes and NO radiator to keep maintained and no Exhaust System etc. etc.
@davidhalifax its not just about pollution, its about energy dependents.
@LeadHammer think of it like this, I own a gas guzler a S600 and i can tell you this when thinking o the battery is making more pollution but what about the engine for a car, the engine oils, grease and chemicals you have to replace every year and some whitch take alot of pollutants to make, its kinda the same if you really think about it. I personaly like this idea of battery powered
@LeadHammer hopefully batteries will be less harmfully composed a decade or so into the future.
what if people steals that cable while the cars charging lol
@cm18cam Prius isn't that pretty either, but look at it's sales ;-)
I HATE THAT THEY MAKE HYBRID AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES LESS ATTRACTIVE THAN MOST GASOLINE COUNTERPARTS.
True True but still the Prius looks better than this
Man this car is UGLY!
@davidhalifax It's something I address briefly in the written review. Where I live in the Pacific NW much of our electricity comes from hydroelectric (and wind is growing).
As for the Forte 5, it's on my list guys but haven't seen it in the press fleet. Same with Elantra and 2012 Civic. Hint, hint, hint...
