Mick Mills was a brilliant player, for some reason, I always picture him playing at Hampden for England v Scotland, when I think back on 1970s Auld Enemy encounters, Mick Mills comes to mind, a terrific player
Brian Moore hosting On the Ball on World of Sport 68-79 and then reporting on matches for the LWT region on World of Sport 68-85 and then hosting his Big Match 68-83 on LWT. Brian the voice of ITV football for the region and the network 32-01
I remember this game. In the Shed and we were calling the ref all kinds of Ernie Hunts and B’ Astards!! Walking home (3 mins away) muttering all kinds of curses to myself. So, to answer the question, been going to every home game bar 4 since 1967 and away since 1972 ’an I'm still going. Win or lose up the Blues.
Just put it out there on Twitter to @ITVfootball @BBCMOTD @bbcsport have they every thought about their own you tube channels showing classic Big Match/MOTD episodes, just a thought but if there's a demand I sure they would consider it, 👍🏻😀
Be carful the big companies like to have stuff like this taking down because it reminds them of an era when they were actually television makers and not canned camera the better part of 24/7
No doubt Fat Sam enjoyed a pre match pint of wine down the Kings Road. Can't see why the Linesman can't be goal judge and look for the keeper coming of his line, Brain certainly has a been in his bonnet about this.
@@darren2514fv Can you do me a favour can you show it? I know there was one with Fred Dinenage and Gerald Sinstadt too? Plus name the ITV regions that had their own sports rooms?
All these years later and chelski STILL can't fill shamford bridge, even for Champions League games. Once a small club, always a small club however many gangsters you have pouring millions into the club and trinkets and baubles you acquire.
Superb.... 70 s football still the best in my opinion
I was a student in London back then. If I couldn't get home to watch United, I'd go to Stamford Bridge where a mate of mine worked on match days.

Jimmy Greenhoff and Alan Hudson. Pure poetry in motion.

these young fans on Chelsea tv should watch this and realise how far
We have come in my lifetime 20000 real
fans in the bridge
Brilliant Dave, thanks for uploading all this classic footy!
Dunne, Garry Jones, Peter Thompson no longer with us. Wilkins and Bonetti likewise.
RIP
How good a player was Peter Thompson . One word, Class . Could go inside , or outside . Terrific Balance .
Nice to see Edward, Duke of Kent (Queen Victoria’s father) refereeing the Chelsea game.
I like Brian's pipe smouldering away on his desk!
Nice match . Good watching . English football is the best .
I also used to love watching Saint and Greavsie!

Great stuff keep em coming .
Production Team: Martin Tyler 👏
Strange how they were talking about goalkeepers moving ...see how much they move today on every penalty

Brian Moore and Dickie Davies with their image and the ITV Sport logo 74/77 can we see it again?

Bolton...super Bolton!!
I don't think Jose would've been happy with the Chelsea player (Chopper?) playing all the Bolton players onside at that free kick.
Who needs smarmy Gary Lineker when you had the great Brian Moore !
Smaller wages bigger talent
This was a second game on Granada
Darren do you remember when they had the old ITV Sport logo with Brian Moore and Dickie Davies images? Wasn’t it 74-77?

Stamford Bridge the Emptyhad of the 70s
Sam Allardyce was fat even when he was skinny!
This was one of the seasons when Bolton blew it big style. Don't mention York City!
J
Brian Moore bias to the north again. The goalkeeper was not wrong totally exaggerated

Wtf are you going on about??? We've sold out EVERY game this season
Ignoramus
Well, moron, a year after this recording we managed to attract 55 000 for a second division match against Fulham.
Big Sam in the Bolton line up - he must be about 100 by now...
@Demon 1 a bit of a snowflake for sure.
IPSWICH!
