Armageddon was the create your own fatality. It was never consistent as people often chained moves together so much that a fatality never really ended. It was ridiculous hence why netherealm never did that again.
The first guy shown off was the creator's custom fighter. The custom fighter was pretty cool, not only could you customize their looks, but also their fighting style and weapon.
Armageddon fatalities were inputs for different attacks instead of the standard fatalities. Just think of these fatalities as if the combos actually able to kill the opponent.
Armageddon is like everyone is here, so what they did to cut on time in development was "Create A Fatality" that's why they wait a bit because the player is deciding what to do next.
Armageddon is the 7th part, in which there are 60 characters, they all have their own styles, weapons, techniques, combos, a victory pose, the ending after passing the Argus pyramid, in which the main enemy is a huge fire monster named Blaze, each character has his own victory dance, when passing the tower, but for 60 fighters they could not come up with a bunch of fatalities, they decided to come up with different types of fatalities, such as ultimate, just fatalities, hara-kiri and so on
This was my first MK game by Midway then I got into MK9 which is awesome.
Mine too but that's the only one I've played, I had the Wii version and the motion controls were so bad when trying to do the fatalities.

The reason Kano had a big sword is because everyone in armageddon (except for at least Blaze) had a weapon they could swap to for new combos, so a lot of characters had swords

Y'know you guys should react to the different interactions that the heroes in overwatch have with each other. Really paints out their relationships with one another
Armageddon brought back every character that's been playable in the franchise to date and the end of the original timeline stories.

So basically, the technique to get Ultimate Fatalities was to do 4 Triangle moves, 6 Square moves, and a Circle finisher. You basically can't have enough time if you try any other method. There is a reason this mechanic never came back.
MK: Armageddon was released in 2006. That was a great time!

I can say that this game seem to be the start for my MK Journey during the Wii era 😄 as I gotten this game from a Uncle who played MK when he was younger and sharing his experience to tell me his Main being Sub-Zero. So I can also state that this game seems inspirations to New Era Mk1 with old characters coming to the new era with a new look to them. With that said, some of the characters are being in the new era but as little cameos or possibly Kameo Fighters for the new game.
This Game was the Finale of the Original Timeline, if I understood correctly.
Fun Fact: you could make Custom Characters in this Game.
Anyway, i highly recommend checking out the Trailers of Limbus Company at some point.
this game is where they took away each character's unique fatalities because every character was there plus a few new ones so the devs did not have enough time to put in unique fatalities. There is also was the create a character

Armageddon was when because they pulled a Smash Bros. Ultimate and went “Everyone is here!”, they couldn’t give everyone unique fatalities, and everyone had the Kreate-a-Fatality, where everyone shared a set of inputs that you had to put in to combo a fatality. There’s a reason why everyone hated this bit
Edit: what makes it so sad was that the one before this was Mortal Kombat Deception, and that one was so great!

Man, this brings back memories. Sadly I don't really know if these were things I even knew about when I had the game, back on xbox or playstation 2. Wish they would re-release Armageddon on newer consoles, I honestly do not care if they just release it as is, I will still play it in this quality, it does not need any changes for me to enjoy it today
Sometimes they release games on Gold Pass or Playstation Plus that are just digital versions of the older games and not remastered ones. So maybe they will do that with MK Armageddon on one of the platforms 🤔

In armageddon everyone has the same fatalaty strings your the one that has to create them with certain strings
If anything the death traps in both the game konquest mode and motor kombat are more gruesome and in some cases hilarious
Huh. So that's what Armageddon fatalities look like. While I applaud the whole "Create a Fatality" thing they got going. Gotta say the novelty wears off fast compared to the recent cinematic ones.
And seeing all these characters I've never seen before, really makes me wonder if they're all gonna be back as Kameos.

Just a suggestion but since you guys watched the fnaf vhs tapes awhile back I would recommend watching other series similar to it such as The Mandela Catalogue, The Walten Files, Harmony and Horror or others. Again just a suggestion.

This was definitely a low point in the series. While Armageddon boasted several cool features such as having pretty much every playable character up to that point, it was mired by several issues, all caused by a brutally short amount of time for development. One consequence of this was the erasure of unique fatalities. While this game used a lot of the same models from previous 3D games, several classic characters made their 1st 3D appearance in Armageddon, plus there were a few new ones. This led to the dev team not having enough time to create new fatalities for any of these characters. That's why they came up with "Kreate-a-Fatality", a desperate yet necessary alternative. The "Ultimate" part just means that the winner struck, stabbed, or mutilated the loser a total of 10 times before the killing blow.
And for the record, there actually ARE a few characters that can jam their sword up the loser's butt for the finisher. After a moment, they pull it out and 2 of the loser's organs remain impaled on the blade.

Unfortunately they dropped the ball with Armageddon when it came to fatalities...
Because there were so many characters they didn't have unique fatalities and instead had this create a Fatality system where everyone had the same options you just had to do it right. It sucked ass and nobody liked it.
They did their End Game too soon. Needed to wait until the consoles could handle it 😝
