Thank you, Tim, for your dedicated hard work for all of us. My letter to Cornyn received a reply of him basically dancing around the issue. I'll forward a copy to you. So disgusted with these senators. Tim, if not for you, this matter would be so depressing. You continue to give us hope.

As a retired Police Officer, I have been contacting my representatives since 1986 on this issue. I am 5 months away from my full retirement age and I really could use the SS income, yet I wait year after year for WEP/GPO to be eliminated. This is my last shot. I can not wait any longer. If it does not pass, I will have to take the penalty.

Thank you so very much Mr. Lee!
From my first job at age 15, I paid into SS for 25 +/- years. After that I worked 26 years as a firefighter for the City of Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, where I did not pay into SS, but instead paid into my retirement pension (plus a few years of part time work where I did again pay into SS).
In 2016 I retired on a half pension (my wife received the other half-amicably). Because the Firefighter job was for the city of Las Vegas, my 25+ years of paying into Social Security fell under the WEP & GPO, so consequently at age 62, when I applied for my Social Security, it was cut by two-thirds due to the WEP provision.

Ex railroad worker here who turned 65 last year and lost 50% of my pension when my wife and I need it most. My father in law was also ex railroad worker and a WWII veteran was on 100% offset and was collecting cans to make ends meet. We tried our hardest to help him financially but he was a proud man and wouldn't accept help from anyone. I couldn't even imagine how this proud man who served our country and worked 37 years as a railroader felt before his passing. We are only asking for what is rightfully ours.

I'm a teacher in Massachusetts and will be penalized. As long as I'm working and not collecting my pension I collect Survivor Spouse Benefits. It's all over when I retire unless this law passes in the Senate. I'm 70 and ready to retire! Tell me why those in New York State are allowed to get both! We are supposed to be the United States of America. The same rules should be for all states.

As I understand it, it is all down to Schumer bringing it to the floor for a vote. They have enough votes (have heard anywhere from 60 to 63) but enough to override a filibuster attempt so what some ultra conservative senators want or don't want, it wouldn't matter. Just remember who was against it when it comes time to vote again and get them out of office once and for all.

REPUBLICANS celebrate the PASSING OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY FAIRNESS ACT.
