Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. I first read it when I was 17 or 18, and it had an enormous effect on me. The first time I had come across the concept of ecology, and the most complicated book I had ever read. The characters were so vivid, and the dialogue was so precise. As soon as she started reciting that speech it came straight back to me, and Lady Jessica was just there! I have been looking forward to this for a long time.
Julia Connell -- Thanks for typing this out. I tried to read the book like she did but it just didn't work out for me. I suffer horrible fears so I will print this out and keep repeating it. Hopefully I can go through the fear too. Love the cat pic!

I knew Colbert was a Lord of the Rings fan so it's no surprise that he's a Dune fan. I love watching him do an interview related to a work he has deep knowledge of.
i LOVE how Stephen asked what fear was, hoping she would remember her dialogues and proving she does more to this character than just act it. She is that good, capturing the essence of Lady Jessica just by talking to Dennis . I can understand why she didn’t had time to read the whole book, it is a complex story, quite a tome. But she did great and definitely nailed it.

Nice. I’m so looking forward to watching this when my city gets out of lockdown. I remember watching the 1984 film with my nerdy friends and thoroughly enjoying it. I finally read the book 3 or 4 years ago and found out what a personal adventure David Lynch took towards the end of the film. I really hope this one is a a bit truer.
I've seen it two weeks ago. I can honestly say "Dune is the only movie that is better than the book it's based on, but I wouldn't have understood the film if i hadn't read the book." It is a brutally faithful adaptation, no handholding or babying the audience. I went with a friend who knew nothing about it and who didn't understand half of it. He still texts me about how floored he is by the experience. It's awesome.

Have seen it last weekend! Magnificent! I have heard about the books, mostly from my Sci-fi obsessed cousin, but have not read them myself yet, and this movie so, i don't know, the mood, the spirit of different planets, the shots are perfect, you can feel foreboding coldness of Caladan and dry heat of Arakis, and the music, the score made me sit on chair's edge entire time, just waiting what else to befall the ancient honorable house Atreides. Jason Issacs as a loving father and true leader of his people, and Lady Jessica, such complex woman, a concubine, a true love, a fearful mother, and strick teacher, and real believer, and also the one who gone against her teachers and sect. Paul, just the boy, who has to grow up fast, and also possibly a messiah... Every character was fleshed out. I can't wait, it's gonna be like 2 years till the next one! It is Game if Thrones in Star Wars 😅
