I have two African dwarf frogs a female long tail female Betta named Splash and 3 mystery snails living happily in a beautiful 10 gallon aquarium!
Your aquarium is so pretty😍 so are the inhabitants! I read, while researching the frogs, that you can get a small ceramic/terra cotta plate and use a turkey baster to squirt their food onto it. That'll save your sand getting food all in it till they get used to hand feeding😊 x
Fortunately they get every worm off the sand! But when it comes to foods that break down I intend to try and use a dish to decrease the mess. Thanks :)

I understand you made this video a bit ago. Thank you for posting this. I also have taken sone frogs. I went bought them a topfin bettaflo tank. I have learned the frogs like almoat still water. They love so many plants that you can hardly see them. They love love love caves. I thank you so ideas as to how to se their tank. I want to use sand I only have planted tanks and I cant change that now. I worry about my frogs shoving snad in their mouths when they eat.

Cool I just upgraded my tank from 3.5. Gallons to 10. Gallons for 2 frogs they love it

One thing i have learned is that live plants are so important in an aquarium. They balance the bioload and the toxic snail poop.

Yes! I think that’s part of the reason your tank mates are so happy! Can you imagine their behavior if there were only an ugly pink gravel bottom and some Sponge Bob figurines....lol. This tank is a gem and is inspiring me. I tried a Betta with a frog years ago in a 5 gal hexagon. I know more now. I may add more frogs and some pygmy cories. Thank you!
Oh, and Anubias are supposed to grow into biological things...they do that.
i really like the natural look of tank, i just happen to click on this video and that is a beautiful fish. I have a male halfmoon who looks exactly like that color with the transparent edges too and its very cool to see through them.
my male betta Casper and my 5 african dwarf frogs coexist together very happily. Never ran into any problems... Casper swims around the tank and the frogs like to check him out. Only thing that I have to worried about is making sure that the frogs have had enough food while feeding since they are slow eaters! Thanks for sharing your experience

I'm just curious, did the Betta and frogs live harmoniously together? Or did issues arise?
i wanna get a white betta fish and call it appa, although im kinda surprised that my local chain petstores dont have bettas, only private owned ones really have them, but at east their in big tanks so yay

I’m just starting out with fish, my sister is wanting a male betta so I was thinking a community tank. I can either do a ten gallon, 20 gallon, or 20 long. I’m willing to do whatever size required for how many fish I want. Oo and live plants of course. Whoever is good with fish can help me out with this I’m just super confused, I was researching and it’s all you can put this many guppies in a twenty and this many Cory cats but then I know the number of fish all together matters and I don’t want to overcrowd. Here’s what I’m wanting -
One male betta
Some Cory cats
Guppies ( hopefully at least four )
Mystery snails ( at least two )
Two African dwarf frogs
And a small school of neon tetras.
So with the tetras would the twenty long sound best for all these fish, and do my numbers sound okay or would it be overcrowded??
They are all so cute! I have been considering getting some African dwarf frogs. I am thinking of doing a planted 10 gallon with 3 neons, 2 adfs, a snail or two, and some ghost of cherry shrimp. I know that the frogs might end up eating the shrimp but we will see how it goes.
I know its two years later, but purigen will clear out those tannins if you ever have driftwood that leaks that much again. :D
Really like the tank set up want to try the sand and live plant set up to move away from artificial plants for a more natural feel for my frog and snail. Also got to learn how to use that sponge filter.

Not that it is really related to this video but you talking about the fresh water snails made me think of it. I have been considering garden snails as pets. I was reading up on them and it said they can carry parasites, and Salmonella. In consideration of these factors would you ever get a garden snail?Also thinking about your reptiles and how it might effect them?

I have the understanding that tge frogs also like a lower water level. If you plan to put your betta in there he well also like that as well. They both are air breathers.
Actually, they all prefer warmer water.
I realize this is a couple yrs old but for new readers, I just want to mention that Bettas thrive in brackish water & actually gain antibacterial & other benefits from it. Other acquatics also do. Look it up.
If you haven't already, I would get two or three ghost shrimp to clean up the tank and clean up the snail waste.
I’ve already moved to a larger enclosure and no longer have the snails. I’ve read that the frogs can eat small shrimp which is why I didn’t get any!
Awh I love all the new additions! I know what you mean about bettas, earlier in the year I was browsing but couldn’t find any to rehome! Surprised me considering they’re often neglected animals. Snails poop so much OMG like what the heck it’s just something I never considered until getting some and being like oh 😂

How do the frogs do being all males? Do you hear them sing? I was aiming for two girls and a boy from recommendations and accidentally ended up with two boys. So far Daphne is a beast/boss but as the boys grow I will probably have to change things up.

What a gorgeous betta! I have only managed to find one on Craigslist and it sucked because I discovered this guy was selling them just trying to get a hand out and the fish were treated terribly. So glad yours was treated well

Hello Jessica, I'm sorry I'm a day late watching this one. The beta fish reminds me of my birthstone, the opal. He glimmers different colors in him as he moves just like the stone.
I had the little froggers too years ago. Before you could get real info on how to take care of them. They did well surprisingly for me until they just disappeared. I was devastated. Found one when moving furniture while cleaning and Steve really thinks at the time our first basset hound ate the other. No more frogs for me😢.

don't apologize for being late! you're here right on time :) opal is a gorgeous birthstone, and you're right he does look like that! mine is a pearl. their names are all from Naruto which is an anime I watched with my fiancé and sister. I've kept nerite snails in the past and never had any babies, fingers crossed! and I've read terrible stories of escapes which is why I have that acrylic sealed terrarium lid. I had newts that escaped years ago so I've been there :( sorry you had to experience that. I never found either of mine.
OH olso! make sure the water level is down bc the frogs need to go up and get air and dont like to swim that high up to get air
12 inches is the recommended height, so they get to the top just fine :)
The dark water from the wood would be good for your betta because that’s the wood release tannins which is beneficial for fish especially bettas
That wood actually didn’t work out in the aquarium, I have Malaysian driftwood in the tank now and it seeps tannins. I know they’re beneficial, I just like to get some out of the way so the water doesn’t get SO dark.
I think you have the proper number of ADFs for the size of the betta tank. I had 5 ADFs with a betta, and--quite surprisingly--the ADFs attacked the betta, not the other way around.
Also, would you consider shrimp to clean up behind your snails? A few adult amanos would be large enough to live with the ADFs without incident.
I actually upgraded them to a 15 gallon :)

I buy from pet stores because I dont want the fish that are there to be stuck there or get bought by someone who has no clue how to take care of fish
But then they just replace the fish you bought with more fish.
@@JessicasAnimalFriends I know, but at least I am helping these fish out, but I do understand why you dont buy from big chain stores, one day I do want to work at a store like that though to clean the tanks and make sure they are well taken care of, but the ones I go to take pretty good care of there fish, they just need to clean up a bit
