They had to load the stones from a distance and still all athletes managed to lift at least 4 stones in a good time. One of the best collective performances ever on stones in my opinion. The average level of talent is nuts.

Was rooting for Novikov this year, but seeing Tom win by 10.5 points was absolutely insane. The man could've literally sat out an event and still won. Between Tom being a beast, Novikov looking like Pudzianowski the second, Brian going for his fifth, Licis finally healthy, and Mitchell Hooper the super rookie, this was one crazy final.

Platforms have changed over the years from wooden barrels to cylinders and now these podiums. WSM as a sport is always changing and that's a good thing. If there is a better way to do things why not do it? Especially if it solves a problem, like podiums tipping or stones not staying on the stand?
