The song is from West Side Story. Jamie Ray is the arranger and while watching the movie realized there were 11 phrases in the song and Voctave has 11 members so arranged it for each member to have a solo. He is also a tenor in the group and started Voctave. Most of them are current or former singers at Disney World in The Voices Of Liberty which is where they all met. They have been singing together for years hence their wallo of sound.
Exactly. Each singer has their own style and voice quality. AND Jamie Ray knows precisely how to match them with the solos. Every aspect of his arrangements is carefully planned and NOTHING is left to chance. Truly incredible group. BTW, I’ve seen them 6 times in concert and they sound incredible live, as well.
You mentioned Somewhere Over the Rainbow at the beginning when trying to place this song. Voctave actually did a version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. And like everything else they do, it was wonderful. If you want to hear another song from a musical they did, they also covered The Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha. There are 2 versions on Voctave’s channel. One is a studio recording version. The other is live with an orchestra and backing choir. Both excellent. And the second version gives you a taste of how they sound live.
The studio version is my favorite Voctave piece. Tiffany totally nails it. I’ve watched it probably 20 times and am still on the edge of my seat every time!❤
@@sxbrowns It depends on my mood. Sometimes I just enjoy watching Tiffany perform in the live video. Sometimes I prefer just listening to Voctave perform. I completely agree, Tiffany is spot on when she sings this. And everything else I’ve heard her sing.

Wow! I didn't know that. Thank you for the info. That makes a lot of sense. How wonderful. Thank you to Jamie Ray for putting thoughts into action.
