There is a lot to learn 👍 FYI, a better way to join the two sides is just to delete the faces after circularize components. Then double click the edge of the top hole hold shift, then double click the edge of the bottom hole, then hold shift right click and select bridge It is a faster way of closing the hole. You still need to bevel edges after
Even faster, instead of extruding the upper part, just make cyrcle on both sides at the same time, delete the inside on both parts and bridge between their edges, anyway, liked the vid, nice method
Bro, thanks for the tip, really fast and easy even for noobs like me (his method was more complicated by also taught me to use V to snap things, which will be very handy)
How do you do this with a rectangle? I am making a pull toy but the wheels are on the sides (so the long sides of the rectangle) would I just need to add a ton of subdivisions?
How to use this method for a cylinder? Im modeling a vintage telephone. For the dial pad i need to make holes. How do i make holes using this method? Thanks in advance
You can repeat the process and just bridge between the holes, if you're making multiple holes, it makes sense to add edge loops to separate the geometry to have the less diagonals that make up your quads
If this is the most efficient way to make a hole in a cube with quad topology in maya I have to say I don't understand why anyone would waste their money and time on this when blender is so much faster.
If the end is just the mesh without any smoothing then that is fine, but if you want to subdivide the mesh or smooth it, then using booleans in Maya can make topology with lots of n-gons and extra vertices in strange places
I'm in college studying computer animation I didn't learn none of this 😯 Thank you! 🤭

You are a life savior SIR! 🙏✌
Glad it helped, more holes in cubes in Maya! 📦🕳️
pretty good tutorial. Thanks
Glad it helped cutting holes in Maya 👍
Thank you so much for your advise! Your way too great, excellent!
👍
Thank you, this cleared all my doubts and was much helpful 😁

Many ways to do it, thanks for sharing another method

Omg thank you so much this could safe my project
Glad it helped, 3D modeling holes can be difficult, good luck with the project 👍
@@WhatMakeArt thank you :)
Thanks For Sharing
You are welcome

You just need two edge loops in the middle for the circle, then you can add subdivisions later after you do all your beveling and things at lower poly

Make some loop cuts first, here is the basic concept used to make a handle on this coffee cup ua-cam.com/video/V59XKklgfDE/v-deo.html
Why you didn't use bridge to make the hole? Really like your video man!
Yes, using the bridge tool to make holes in Maya works well too
Good video
👍
you're just awesome ❤️
👍
This is nice
👍
The way the other object looked made me laugh - looked like an egg with a hole stabbed in it lol. Thanks for these video's they really helped!
Save the eggs from stabbings! Glad the video helped 🥚🥚🥚
what if we want to make 2 square wholes on a plane?
You can repeat the process and just bridge between the holes, if you're making multiple holes, it makes sense to add edge loops to separate the geometry to have the less diagonals that make up your quads

Welcome 👍

Maya and Blender are both great modeling tools
learned how to doge boleans and that I CAN PRESS F10 FOR EDGE MODE THANK U!!!
Woot 👍

LOL he just showed in the video why
he just showed that u idi- oh wait you're women nvm
Request to make gun model
Noted
too slow method
Yes, a number of steps could be combined and streamlined
