In the first kalpa the shady broker will sell you a demon with estoma and thats essential! It'll lower the encounter rate and it has a spell to instantly escape battle. The cursed zone can't kill you but simply drop your HP to 1. Despite all this you have to get through quickly and if you're lucky you'll get through. It's totally worth it
@djjuicylord, I have to agree with you. With my fight after he says "Prepare yourself Demi-fiend" he constantly uses Dekunda, Dekaja and Focus it making very difficult to increase or decrease stats for the rest of the fight. Well fought though, Magma Axis is insane :P
Not to mention his superb array of resist/null/reflect I think the only thing he doesnt have a special def for is physical which is neutral on him. He has NO WEAKNESS much like most fiends. But yeah the ability to restore his SP so easily combined with Debiliate and Prayer means he is the best suppport type. But filling him with support will render him dead weight since you probly wont give him good hit all moves or multi hits.
@XxDantefanxX1 From the magatama Gehenna which you can buy at the junk shop in Asakusa Magma axis is the final skill on it and you need to be lvl 65 to learn the move. Interesting not Magma axis is a magic attack that uses HP instead of MP to use but the damage done is considered magic damage. So it is great skill which is incredibly useful in this battle because Beelzebub takes full damage from fire based attacks.
Just carry a few Float Balls and use one when you hit the cursed floor. If you're there until Kagutsuchi resets, use another one for maximum duration. A float ball will last until the next New phase. The cursed floor will not harm you while floating. Estoma is useful, but far from necessary if you are sufficiently leveled.
I never replaced him. I even kept him for my last fight against Lucy (a level 84 Black Frost, a level 92 Lilith and Daisoujou at 82). His low HP was a problem though, but luckily I had Life Gain zapped on him, which enhanced into Life Surge after; and I did some Mitama fusions on him to raise his stats. Meh, in the Personas games, every demon is the same for me. Keep them around for 4-5 levels, and eventually having to dump them because they're too low-leveled.
More like the player know what he is doing... And they is another really easy way to kill him: All you need is: Mana drain, Makaja, deli or just rakunda start put 4 layers kaja and unda. don't att drain all his mana, start press triangle win.
Man, he was a total jerk with dekunda and dekaja when he fought me. Also didn't bother to have half of my party death-immune, but he was pretty safe to just whittle down with Demifiend + Daisoujou.

Trying to get em now but Dante is a dick to me in the Third Kalpa >;( Edit: Well..that was dissapointing, i actually had more trouble with Metatron then with Beelzebub, he didnt kill me once, and my only meansof fire attacks was the Mothman next door from the Shady Broker. He never used Hus Dekunda or Dekaja, ever.

What the fuck am I seeing??? That's not "good luck", it's just not the same game! With me there is a 100% chance that he uses Dekaja or Dekunda every turn. I have NEVER seen him not use it as soon as he gets serious. And because he spams these two for now he's the hardest boss I've seen in the game. There's just no way to win agaisnt this guy.
+Endlesswhiner I noticed enemies that can cast Dekaja/Dekunda will generally won't cast it if you don't fully debuff/buff. If you keep it at 3/4 instead of full buff/debuff of 4/4, there is a good chance they won't cast it at all. That's why most fights (on all my videos) I only keep buff/debuffs at 3/4 to greatly increase the chance they won't use Dekaja/Dekunda. Of course if the enemy/boss doesn't have that skill, then I'll fully debuff/buff. This is my experience in playing Nocturne.
I tried that, it failed. :( Debilitate only 3 times, no Kajas except two makakajas... Never worked. Dekaja Dekunda, Dekunda Dekaja. Many times I'd kaja just once and Dekaja immediately. I still got that damned fly, but it took me 4 hours of going in and out of the Kalpa, fusing and refusing, I got a Yurlungur that always died to Death Flies, had to get out of the Kalpa then back in with a Sui-ki that had essentially the same powers. I grinded a Loa for an hour so he'd get Debilitate, got out of the Kalpa, fused my entire team into a super 4-demons team with Yurlungur, got all the way down again, died, died died died, then got all the way out, fused Yurlungur in a Sui-ki, got all the way back down, then finally got him. I was pretty salty as you may guess. :P I STILL GOT HIM.
+Endlesswhiner If you have a party that's resistant to a lot of nonsense it will eat up a lot of turns from the bosses. So when normally they would cast dekunda or dekaja almost every time they don't get a chance to because they waste turns on your resistances. Just look at beelzebub's turn icons, when he does his things. He has Daisoujou and Black frost which both have very good resistances.
Does he not use Dekaja if you don't buff physical attack, or was it just luck that he didn't cast it? I should probably switch to life drain on my demons instead of mana refill as well, as that's been giving me a few problems during extended battles.
I had already beaten him twice on two cycles when I made the comment, I know how the fight goes. I was just curious seeing as he always hit me with Dekaja and I was built for physical attacks both times.

Anyway just to make sure: -In this video MasterLL play in "normal" mode (is harder in "hard"). -LL have one of the best monsters you could have in the game: Daishojou, black Jack frost. Anyway SMT3 nocturne is hard not coz the boss but because the system in the game (if you undrestand how it work the game is easy). Unlike in DDS1 all you need is farm Mantra (only Hitoshura is really "hard" ).

This is something I found out myself when playing. If you fully buff or debuff (4/4), they will most likely use Dekunda/Dekaja to remove it. If you just buff/debuff to 3/4, there is a good chance they won't remove it. This is why most if not all my boss fights I follow this trick I've discovered and it works most, if not all, the time. And one of the many reasons why I always get asked why I don't fully buff/debuff. The ONLY 2 times this trick isn't applied: - Boss will cast regardless of how many buffs or debuffs there is (part of their Attack AI pattern) - Boss does not have Dekunda/Dekaja, which you can go 4/4

as already mentioned, Daisoujou is really only good for support; he's not a full force fighter, hence the need for other demons to fill that void.

Float balls do not work on the Kalpas' cursed hallways, only on the ones in underground tunnels

why the hell is it that most of the enemies/allies/bosses/etc of games that are called "Beelzebub" are ALWAYS related to insects? (no offense btw)
there are alot of personas as bosses in the devil games
