Cliq chair has been a game changer when it comes to Dad life. The ease of set up and portability has been amazing during sports games, water parks, playgrounds and backyard activities. Mine has been going strong for about 4 years now of hard use and no signs of giving up. I love it so much I bought one for everyone in my family. I can get 4 of them to fit in a backpack and we have comfortable chairs wherever we go.
Kurt Thomas was awesome. Roger, nice L support from your chair arms. That alone is a good selling point, for me. Keep on keeping on. Thank you for a great video
If you can go for that chair (big when in the bag) , you can just as well go for the Oztent King Kokoda chair, due to its adjustable lumbar support (which might even be slightly smaller when in the bag). Also got a bad back. The King kakoda is my favorite chair & truly the King for me with a high weight rating. Nice video. Between those 3 chairs I would also have chosen the red one for sure!
I have the 23Zero version of that chair because I made them throw them in for a deal when I bought my tent and absolutely love those chairs. They are huge though I seriously looked at my spare tire in my gladiator and the two chairs and thought about leaving the spare at home just to fit the chairs, but I’m driving from Alberta Canada to Arizona, and I figured out away to get them lol. That’s a comfy chair when you think about leaving your spare on a 3000 mile round-trip.
Just found your channel. I love your videos. They crack me up. Informative, which is what I am looking for regarding overlanding, BUT the additional video clips added throughout are hilarious. Love it!!! 😁🤣
For camping with my Jeep I use an ARB chair that’s pretty comfortable as well. But for Moto camping where small packing space is limited I use my Cliq.
Always cool to see what other people are using out there. I'm totally with you on sacrificing some space for comfort. I've been pretty happy with my Kelty Lowdown as a larger fella. I definitely have my eyes on their Deluxe Lounge chair, though.
If you are an ogre like me, the YETI Trailhead is awesome... I'm 6'6" 395lbs, its the only folding camp chair that I have complete confidence will not explode into bits and pieces while sitting in it. Very sturdy.
I just wanted to say thanks for putting this out here, I am a large man (6'5" 240 lbs) and most camp chairs are too small or low or just not sturdy enough for me, this one has a 300 lb weight rating so I don't think I will end up on my butt. Thanks again!
I wonder if you would like the Front Runner Expander chair. About 80 bucks give or take 20 during sales. It folds down to a small pizza box, and unfolds to a nice height and upright chair with drink and device pockets. Really nice chair for overlanding.
Made a comment on those front runner chairs near the end of the vid; I didn't like them when I tried one. But, I definitely appreciate you taking the time to suggest it!
I agree - those ploppey fabric arm rests suck @$$.. I have a hi- back Helinox type chair for quick stops seating requirements or for a second chair at camp. My main chair that I have had for 6 years is very similar to this chair "TIMBER RIDGE Folding Camping Chair with Padded Hard Armrest and Cup Holder" Several companies make similar chairs. When I am at camp for more than a day I pull out this one. Gold...
I have the same chair branded by Coleman (Coleman comfortsmart suspension chair). It is my favorite camp chair...so comfortable, but so heavy compared to other chairs. I wish they made it out of aluminum. I only use it locally and not for camping due to the weight and size.
Good info! Good to see someone go the opposite direction to larger, heavier and more comfortable/user friendly. The one thing I never liked about those tiny ultra-lightweight compact chairs is that they are too close to the ground and make it difficult for this old guy to get up. Also, tough to snooze in them. They also seem pretty instable to me. We've been using Coleman chairs ($50???) that are similar to the Timber Ridge ones. They have a cup holder and sit higher and have arms. Much more user friendly! Anyways, keep them videos coming bro!
Costco will have some decent camping chairs both online and in-house . They appear to carry different brands/models from year to year so it'll be by luck to find the right one that fits one's comfort level.
I limit my Costco adventures and am very mission-focused when I do go. There are just too dang many people always looking like they want to buy all the toilet paper again. But, I look at their website and they actually have a different Timber Ridge chair (albeit an even larger one) right now 🤙
I have the One Tigris. And the Cliq chair. I was one of the first ones to receive the Cliq chair when they first came out as a start up company. I hate the cliq. Its heavy, uncomfortable and not easy to get out of. My One Tigris chair has been awesome but its not very easy getting out of. These type of chairs cut off circulation when you're bent over trying to eat while you're camping.
Great review and demonstration of each chair. But not a fair comparison if size doesn't matter. Nobody would buy the cliq or helinox if size doesn't matter.
Thank for watching and commenting! I can understand what you're saying but I bought the Cliq when I had room for a bigger chair 🤷🏻♂️ And, my buddy has way more space than I do and he bought a Helinox which he loves. Just offering alternatives for people who may not be aware of this model chair.
I would definately pick the Timberidge over the other two. Nice looking chair. I have to have a chair that I can sit upright in due to a bad back and neck. I have been looking at the Kodiak Canvas chair that is a new to their lineup. It is a very similar chair covered in their canvas but the Timberidge looks more robust.
There's another brand you can take a look at for lumbar support if you haven't seen them before. I haven't tried them so I don't know how good they actually are since they are quite a bit more expensive than this Timber Ridge one. But apparently, they are known for lumbar support. That you for sharing a very helpful & informative review on camping chairs. I really don’t like the ass scrunching /sinking feeling of the typical chair. Feels like you’re sitting in a hammock. My problem is I love to sit next to the campfire & the burning firewood has popped & sent embers flying that have left their mark / Holes in my chairs.. So I can’t justify the expense of really nice chairs 😂
First time viewing your channel. I have a few 23zero items, and have been eyeballing their Springbak chair for awhile. The current price of the Timber Ridge is decent right now (normally same as 23zero's chair). The only thing I can see different is the 23zero chair has larger "feet" on it. The Timber Ridge has narrower feet which could (imo) sink in soft ground, or poke holes in my typical rv-stylecamp outdoor rug. Gotta concur with you on those other style seats. Feels like being squeezed, and difficult for these almost 70 yr old bones to get out of. Thanks for a good review of all 3 chairs. 😎👍
The Cliq sucks. Bot 2. 1st one broke in no time. I only use the other in emergency. The red chair, I have the 23 zero version...super comfy. just bulky and space is at a premium in my Jeep. My favorite is the Folding Frint runner. blend of space savings and kinda comfy
You know what, it might be. Never thought about that because they're like Teslas to me; all the models kinda look alike. But yeah, based on how long that storage bag is, it probably is.
Anyone advocating chairs which have 4 feet has never camped on soft ground. Camping chairs need to rest on a frame member on the ground to spread the load, otherwise you are also going to have to take mat with you every time you camp on sandy soil or on soft turf. All the chairs featured in this video would need a winch to pull out of the ground in some of the places I've camped!
Dude! Loved the video all the way up to the end, then you pissed me off (along with a ton of ham radio & military folks). The phrase, "Over & Out" is like hearing nails on a chalkboard. Lemme splain... When someone says, "Over," after transmitting a message, (s)he is saying, "Your turn to talk." When someone says, "Out," (s)he is saying, "I'm done talking & I'm going off the air." So, when someone wrongfully says, "Over & Out," (s)he is really saying, "Your turn to talk, but I'm not listening to what you're about to say." Rude, right?
Listen, I'm not trying to be rude to you and my bad if my reply didn't come off as humor. The reality is that I'm not going to edit those older videos where I do say that line. I was planning to make that change moving forward based on your comment because I don't like doing incorrect things (again, I was not aware of that and you can thank Hollywood for me being misinformed). But hey, thanks for watching this one video and I wish you well.
@@ggg4runner My bad. This one is all on me. I misunderstood your reply. I should always reread before responding to comments. I thought you implied, "That's the way I say it. Live with it." Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!

Yes, there is a small pocket under the seat and I forgot to mention that in the video. Good eye!
