You guys make a unique contribution to the fitness space in that you try to meet people where they are at.
The main reason I listen to you guys is you actually take people's imperfections into account.
Any run of the mill fitness trainer can tell you what is best when you are a perfect blank slate.
Most of us have postural problems, weak mind muscle connection etc.
I feel you guys are speaking specifically to me. This gives me the confidence to think I can actually pursue fitness long term, as a lifelong pursuit, not just to get in shape for the summer!

I do flat barbell bench on my chest day with dips and Flys, then on my shoulder day I do incline bb as an accessory after heavy dbell mil press and some side and rear delt isolation. Then on my arm day my main tricep movement is close grip flat bb bench and this combo has been getting all those lifts way stronger, especially my flat bench.

What a fantastic first episode of this new masterclass series! Thrilled to be a student in the Mind Pump academy! :) The breakdown of the chest anatomy and actions was extremely helpful, and as someone who has struggled a lot with activating the chest in the past, I am so glad to have these nuggets of help and wisdom as I train. Also, Adam's video on Mind Pump TV on how to do the flat dumbbell chest press was really the key for me to be able to start activating and feeling my chest in a flat bench. So incredibly helpful. Keep the great content coming!

@13:38 I've been dealing with this for many years that it kinda got me to stop doing dedicated chest workouts all together because it's frustrating. Everytime I tried to do chest I can definitely see and feel my left pec and front delt getting fuller and stronger while my right pec looks to only develop on the outer portion while the center almost looks to cave in and front delt looks flat... I really appreciate this episode!! Thanks guys

I think the pinching the shoulders back so that the scapula is activated was one of the biggest game changers especially when benching. The same for even when doing chest exercises on machines as well. The key I found to be engaging the scapula!

Looked high and low for a foot locker style trunk to store my daughter's dress up clothes. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxRkkpE1_3gMEZ2mPhAt6b2moNCUXyH8tG I had one growing up that I stored my Barbies in and wanted something sturdy like that for her costumes. This arrived really, really quickly and is exactly what I've been looking for. Perfect size, color (pink) and has stood up for nearly a year so far against my kids using it as a chair, stage, and barricade (😬) to keep each other out of their rooms. I'm probably going to order another one for my daughter's Barbies.

It's amazing to me, and I did this when I was younger as well, and I only learned when I went to massage school, but how almost everyone who goes to the gym learns the movement of a workout but zero idea how the muscle works and its function. And when you do learn it, it helps not only with the workout, but the mind body connection

  • @josephhales8054

What's crazy is alot of times I do get caught up and confused on the best way to attack my workouts based off of how I feel. I think alot of times atleast for me even though I have been lifting my whole life videos like this show Me how much I don't know about the body and how it works. And this is something I've tried to run away from learning my whole life and now that I have have been doing a better job on being consistent working out and eating better to look and feel better video's like this make me want to actually try to get good at this. Taking care of your body and working it out the best way possible to get the best amount of value out of your workouts is a art that many have mastered and when I see the 3 of you do this day in and day out and the excitement yall get from something that is mind blowing to general pop truly excites me and I want to feel that same feeling. Not to sure what I'm trying to say here accept I've been following yall for a long time and I'm truly grateful for yall to keep grinding and operating in your passion. #Grind don't stop

Dude, a strong back is so important, if I try to keep my shoulders locked back and down, I can not lift nearly as heavy because it takes me extremely overdeveloped front delts out of it and my shoulders are tired much before my chest is and I can't hold the form. And I just noticed this 2 days ago and now here I am having that experience explained. Love this channel

To me this is invaluable especially the episode about body building and power lifting learning from each other! It’s my favorite so far. I'm always learning something new and beneficial from the MP crew! One thing that I'd like to hear a lot more in the fitness space when people mention workout volume is the percentage range of 1-rep max (1RM) for a particular fitness focus (strength, hypertrophy, endurance, etc.) so that the recommendations can be applied more universally and for people to think about how strong they are at any particular lift from the get-go. This would also need guidance on how to safely assess one's 1RM.
You all have my sincere gratitude for highlighting that "less" is more often than not "more" when it comes to fitness and discussing current events in the multi-perspective format that you all do. Stay blessed!

Very good idea 🙂 maybe a masterclas serie about cardio? How do you do cardio right? I mean how much, zones, everything possible, for people who want longevity and health, but don't want to disturb muscle gain and don't want to overdo it. From your episode with Dr Alo I learnd you can overdo cardio, which I really didn't know before. I was very extrem with cycling, especially uphill. I thought I was the best I can do for my heart. This episode made me stop to be so extrem. So I want to know more. Thanks for this great and helpful information, guys 😊

I had similar issues when i was younger... rolling shoulders forward, see saw action near the top, poor execution. No one ever taught me proper form. Football coaches just want to see u push weight and dont fix mistakes. Now i have consistent bicep tendonitis and my chest is the most difficult to develop. I focus as much as i can on the form of my movement more than worrying about the weight. Less pain in shoulders but im going to work more on my stabilizers throughout my back and rotator cup

Regarding rep ranges. Would it work to use the amount of reps to progress the lift instead of using more weight. Say start with 5 rep sets and work up to the point where you can lift 8 to 10 reps before you think about adding plates. Then go back down to 5 reps and add weight to accomodate.

Since I've started listening to you I've adjusted my programing (last 8 months) and seen good gains in all areas other than chest. My mind muscle connection is good, i got the technique down, but gains are mediocre at best, especially compared to lats and delts. I struggled with chest until I started building that mind and muscle connection you have to feel the stretch going down and the pump going up sometimes all it is is the way your elbows and hand position is I used to lower it straight down and up but found that lowering it at a certain angle would give the best pump. Another thing was always having some sort of fly movement in your workout wherever it be cable machine or dumbbells doesn’t matter. I would do a minimum of 4 exercises and at the end of the month I would do 5 sometimes 6 exercises then drop back down to 3 or 4 the following week. And switching up sets between pyramid and standards you have to surprise your body every week with something new but challenging.

Warm up of those support muscles is so important. Tore a bicep tendon years ago and bench is still hard. Can’t use a lot of weight. Work around that by pre exhausting with Pec deck.

I’m ready for this master class and can’t wait for the back. The back is very complicated because there are a lot of muscles hidden inside and fat tends to find its way in there a lot easier then chest, bi’s, tri’s and legs.

I have a question. Once you surpass the 25 rep range, what adaptations take place ? I'm a free diver and finding a way to increase my cardio through working out is definitely welcome, but I am curious as to what changes in muscle occur at 25+ ?

The issue I'm having with my chest is I have plates and screws in my left humorous bone from an accident years ago. So any pushing movement with weight causes a good deal of pain in my left elbow and up to my left shoulder. I've been pushing through this my doctor told me it's arthritis from the old injury. Free weights are very hard for me but recently I've been trying to push through it. Dips are almost impossible but I have been able to work up to sets of 8 unassisted. Took months of assisted dips to get there though. Any advice to help me I would greatly appreciate it.
