@@PEvo-gl4bv the OMD3 strategy in the video has never been broken by any patches/updates in the past and shouldn't ever need to be changed. You can do many other strategies, this is just one that doesn't really require talent to do consistently.
Well, it depends if you use upgraded traps or not. If you use upgraded traps, it can likely be done. Of course I have all the upgrades and skulls to spare. I now see the obvious value of a 1 wave build with all max upgraded traps, since probably most people would be able to do that.
least amount of effort? You didn't grab the skull that was laying there? I was freaking out near the end when I knew you weren't going to pick up that skull. You could have got one extra skull. How do you not pick up that skull?! Lol. Add a floor scorcher for more combo points and this is basically the type of setup I used for omd2 skull farming guide which I have a video on..... Although I believe I spammed many floor scorchers on that one but there was a grinder and barricade also involved.
Technically you are right, but I know you were teasing, but I have more skulls than I can spend now. My goal was to figure out the least trap setup for a way for grinding skulls, but to also be a way that people just starting out could do if they wanted to. It wouldn't be a good video if I said to play the hardest level on the hardest difficulty and have all traps used maxed out and running all around to the different spawner's to take care of the enemies and having non-stop close-calls on losing the match. My goal was to be quick, easy, low skill, easy... low skill... did I mention easy? haha.
There are other ways to do this, but I found a way that is easy to repeat with a 100% identical setup every time. With placing archers, it would take more precise placement and if enemy archers kill one of your archers, it could cause you to have to attack the orcs. If you use a ranged player that can shoot the orcs and if you want to shoot the orcs, this gives you a lot more options. My setup was designed so that you are not attacking the orcs with your own player, because this adds the requirement of the player having skill/talent/practice. I'm not saying this level is difficult, because it isn't, but many people who make tutorial videos for the OMD series, rely 100% on player skill, meaning if you can't run fast enough, take the required shortcuts and aim well enough, you will fail with their strategy on the maps they show. I figured, I would find a strategy that someone with absolutely no skill at all, could beat this level reliably for skull farming and I found this through trial and error and it works. I tried to find one that required zero upgrades and minimal different traps, but I wasn't able to. Also, if you max out upgrades on traps, you can get by with much simpler setups or you can use this same setup with better traps and beat the level faster or use extra coin to add other things to kill them faster. ----------------------------------------------------------- As I put in my description: To get all the skulls, be sure you don't get hit by an enemy even once! With this strategy, you only need 3 traps and only 1 upgraded with 1 upgrade. I tried a lot of options and this trap layout: 1. Works 100% of the time. 2. No weapon needed AT ALL. 3. Only requires 1 upgrade on 1 trap. 4. Doesn't require guiding any orcs at all.
I just re-read your comment and understand it better now. You are talking about maybe making a maze of barricades or just block them off with barricades, then spam archers. That might work, but enemy orc archers will also hit barricades. I'm going to try it and see if i can come up with one using these 2 traps only.
@acek69hyper43 Okay, so all you have to do, is place archers as fast as you can. Put them starting at the 3rd spike by the lava and go across to the left. After you finish that row, start the next row behind them, but make them 1/2 a tile from the wall, so that they shoot between the front row of archers. No upgrades needed. This setup is simpler, in that you only need 1 unit. Before, I was thinking, if an archer even gets hit 1 time, it is not a good strategy, but really, if you win, that's all that matters.
Yes I just tested it before I replied. Feel free to shoot the enemies and upgrade your traps more. I am only showing the bare minimum. Also, if you want to add more to the last wave with the extra money, go ahead.
For endless, You can build a long divider in the middle and block off one side at the end. They will go on both lanes, but the ones who go in the blocked lane, have to back track through the traps again.
Of course it still works. Grinders, tar, and barricades are the basic fundamentals of this game. I would also toss in floor scorchers to that list but that's because I think in terms of combo points.....
I don't know why I had this video set as "unlisted".
Oops. Well, it's "Public" now.
Thanks for sharing
(edited) This game was free on epic games (without DLC) until May 8 2024, but is no longer free.
Is this still work
@@PEvo-gl4bv Sorry the game is no longer free. it was only free for 1 week.
There is a new free game every week on Epic Game Store every Thursday.

Im still looking for a build that only costs 4k gold (what you start with) that clears thr level.

@@FusionDeveloper I got the furthest by using 5 Shock Traps near the entrance though I needed 8 of those to clear the last Wave.
Now on the gamepass !

Ty
cant you spam a lot of archers behind some baricades?
Same, maybe archers and knight are special units that can be only placed on specific areas

You won't get extra skulls from farming the level on harder difficulties.
