  • Orcs Must Die 3 has all kinds of elemental status effects you can inflict on the orcs. Making them turn different colors is fun and all, but not all of the effects are clearly explained in the game so watch along with this guide to see what all the different effects do.
    Fire/Burning -- Damage over time
Ice/Frozen -- Crowd control and brittle orcs are vulnerable to physical damage
Acid/Melting -- Orcs armor is damaged making them vulnerable to physical damage
Lightning/Electrocute -- Orcs explode dealing damage to nearby orcs
Arcane/Affected by Magic -- Orcs are more vulnerable to all damage.
    Stone/Stoned -- Same as Ice

    Thanks for this.
I knew the elemental effects were meant to lend to combinations with the traps.
But this gives me a better idea of how everything has to click together.

    Some good info here!
Another set of questions that pop into my head though: Can enemies have multiple effects at the same time? Does fire cancel ice and/or the other way around? Does having one effect negate other effects or do they not interact at all?

It's not clear but my understanding is that elemental effects can stack, though orcs can only glow one color at a time. My reasoning is I have seen them be hit with arcane, then frozen, and come out glowing pink again because the affected by magic duration is longer.
Explicitly opposite effects of fire and ice do appear to cancel each other, though because of the low damage dished out by the effect and the relatively short durations it is hard to verify.

Hey, a good entertaining video! I noticed a reply linked the wiki. I think when you made this video we didn't have as much info as we do now. There is an elements page that covers all the status effects and such now.

Do you mean about stacked element interactions or just the base effects?

Are different types of elemental (damage) stackable? So could they be frozen but take fire damage (e.g. on a brimstone) at the same time? And are there any numbers of how much damage each trap deals? Thanks alot!

-It is unclear but I believe elemental effects do stack even though graphically only one effect is visible at a time.
-Trap DPS is hidden and there doesn't seem to be a resource where anyone has been able to break it out. This wiki seems to be the most useful with trap range, trigger area, and cooldowns. orcsmustdie.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Traps_(OMD3)
