This book grabbed me from the first syllable. I couldn't put it down! Read the whole entire book after opening it. I loved all the characters and narrator has just a beautiful voice. Great book.
Summary: It was supposed to be the perfect reunion: six university friends together again after twenty years. Host Ali finally has the life she always wanted, a career she can be proud of and a wonderful family with her college boyfriend, now husband. But that night her best friend makes an accusation so shocking that nothing will ever be the same again. When Karen staggers in from the garden, bleeding and traumatised, she claims that she has been assaulted-by Ali’s husband, Mike. Ali must make a split-second decision: who should she believe? Her horrified husband, or her best friend? With Mike offering a very different version of events, Ali knows one of them is lying-but which? And why? When the ensuing chaos forces her to re-examine the golden era the group shared at university, Ali realises there are darker memories too. Memories that have lain dormant for decades. Memories someone would kill to protect.
@Aura Paskel , thank you SO much for posting this audiobook and making it available to us. Please don’t listen to the trolls who feel the need to complain.
Thank You for sharing! I'm really really ENJOYING this story! It's VERY different than my usual choice, but none the less enjoyable. 4 hours in. There's a synopsis posted in the comments if you're interested. X
The main character is blessed with so many loving friends in this book. I feel this book absolutely mirrors reality. At least the reality I've seen. I must say that I disagree with many of the opinions that the main character states and she is extremely dramatic and narcissistic but I'm so interested in the story line that I can't stop listening. This is an excellent book and would be an awesome book club read. Loved it! Thank you. ❤ 😊
I work in a care home as a kitchen assistant, you wouldn't believe people's families , they'll never visit only if their at deaths door and ask if theres any money left on their hairdressers account . We've had families getting irritated because they want us to stop feeding them or not to encourage them to eat so they die quickly. The carers are the ones they see every day who will give them a warm hug , kiss them on the cheek and tell them they look beautiful...
Years of abuse from someone that is suppose to love you and make you feel safe , is detrimental to your emotional state and also destroys relationships. Yes, it’s up to you to decide how to move on from that but sometimes No contact is the best for someone!
Why would I ask an abusive person to babysit my child? Also abusive behaviour is adult children financially depending on aging parents. Especially parents you dont like or care for. That's elder abuse to me.
Why ask an abusive mother to babysit your child?? Also, don't you think it's abusive behaviour to be financially dependent on ageing parents? Especially parents that are blocked out of ones life. Don't you agree?@sdsmithp
Wow - what a despicable lot of characters! Really hard to enjoy a tale full of only lying, manipulative, spineless and bottom of the barrel personalities - however well-written!
A free audiobook just isn’t enough for some people. They feel entitled to all the bells and whistles that come along with a product you have to pay for. But even beyond that, they feel so important that they are compelled to voice their disappointment with the free product. Ridiculous…. How about thanking the person that made the audiobook available?
As if anyone cares whether or not you (some nameless , faceless stranger) decides to “bother” with it…. I mean seriously get over yourself. So why does your comment provoke a response from me? Bc stupid comments like that can make the channel owner decide to stop posting videos that the rest of us actually appreciate. Do you get it? Listen to the book or don’t, but Don’t selfishly ruin things for the rest of us!

Imagine being mother to a daughter who only calls you to collect her inheritance and then again because she needs a babysitter. Just beyond sad!

Very very good you wont be disappointed
Easy listen
Why does everyone forget about this red "jumper"?
Good lord if one person in this story could tell the truth their lives would be much simpler.
Several characters with few descriptions and lots of conversation. So it was difficult to know who was talking.
Not really my style.
Ali - mike : assault
Karen : victim of assault

I don’t know who said what , it’s hard to figure this out
Kalim - jody
Karen and benjy
Ben
Jake
