Unrealistic but I'm kinda hoping Dipplin evolves further. It definitely falls more in line with what you would consider a regional variant. I still like it though.
Archaludon has very much grown on me as I really enjoy the colors. Seems like a very natural step up from Duraludon.

i bet dipplin used to be an idea for a regional form, but was turned into a seperate pokemon. overall the amount of regional forms dropped sinificantly this gen, while there are new pokemon that look like old ones but different. i wouldn't be surprised if the whole concept of regional forms will be abandoned in one or two generations

I don’t think Dipplin will evolve and for good reason
Dipplin represents/is the missing niche left behind by Flapple and Appletun. Dipplin is the Support to Flapple’s Offence and Appletun’s Defence. Dipplin’s new move and ability revolve around hindering opponents whereas Appletun was about breaching their special defences and tanking hits while Flapple was about speed and immense damage.
Dipplin also is the only one of the three to remain living in its apple. Flapple eats the innards of its apple to gain flight while Appletun ate its to get a cool hat. Dipplin stayed small to be inconspicuous but also house its new secondary buddy. Furthermore, Dipplin greatly resembles GMax Appletun and Flapple! GMax Appletun and Flapple both are described as secreting sweet but sticky nectar, and behold Dipplin who produces sweet and sticky syrupy nectar! He even behaves the same with his head poking up and down.
Dipplin is the missing link the tied the family together and as the third of the trifecta, I think he’s perfect the way he is, no further evolution required.

Correction: this is the first time since GEN 4 that we’ve gotten new evolutions one generation later. This is so hype. Bring on more cross Gen evolutions. I hope we start getting baby forms again as well. I know many bemoan baby pkmn as “taking up space in the dex” but I don’t care. Many appreciate them. After the Gen 4 debacle that lead to the halting of new evolutions its nice to have them back, now I want more cross Gen baby pkmn too.

Praising Dipplin but glossing over Iron Crown doesn't sound fair. Both of them could be considered slight variants of the originals but have features to set themselves apart (Dipplin being 2 worms instead of 1 and Crown growing the large horns when using its signature move), so only going over one of them while dismissing the other seems like an inconsistent logic.

I really like these new designs! I'm glad they're (seemingly) finishing the legendary Paradox trios, as it would've been a sad one-off otherwise. And Dripplin is great!
I think the Presents was disappointing overall, with a lack of substantial content, but modern Pokemon vastly prefers free to play games over full fledged spinoffs anyway. But at least we have the release date for wave one! I hope they add tons of content to make it worthwhile!

As far as I can tell and contrary to what some people think, paradox pokemon are NOT related to the pokemon from current times.
The paradox pokemon are essentially convergent evolutions taken from another point in time (the very distant past or the very distant future) that just happen to look similar to pokemon from current times but have no relation to them.
To further prove this, if you notice, just like the convergent evolutions from current times shown in the games (like wiglett or toedscool), the paradox pokemon are shown with their own pokedex entries separated from the pokemon they resemble (like diglett and tentacool), unlike things like regional forms or regional evolutions in other gens that are usually just added in the same pokedex entry. This is most likely to differenciate them from the pokemon they resemble and show that they're indeed unrelated pokemon despite their similarities and that they just happen to look similar to the pokemon in current times. It's definitely not any coincidence that the concept of convergent evolutions was introduced in the same gen that paradox pokemon did.
The paradox part comes from the fact that Sada and Turo invented the time machine but that in itself is a paradox because that only happened because they got obsessed with those creatures thanks to the scarlet/violet book that described the encounter of the first area zero expedition team with them 200 years ago. So, the book has info about those creatures way before Sada and Turo invented the time machine that brought them in the first place. So how is that possible?
The most likely explanation is that someone with a time machine (most likely AI Sada and AI Turo) kept time traveling to certain points in time (after they left at the end of the game) and made sure that the first expedition that went to area zero could see some paradox pokemon. This eventually led to the creation of the scarlet/violet book and thus also led to real Sada and Turo getting obsessed with the creatures from the book and eventually, to the creation of the time machine that brought the paradox pokemon to the present in the first place. Starting the cycle once again.
That's why they're called "paradox pokemon", because due to the fact that the whole timeline is a loop, the moment where the paradox pokemon and the scarlet/violet book first appeared doesn't have a clear point of origin. It's basicaly a boostrap paradox.

I wanna tell myself the Paradoxes of the Legendary Beasts could actually be their prior forms.
Johto has no Fossils, but the Kanto ones are in the Ruins of Alph, where Unown reside.
Unown have a connection with Suicune and their Hidden Power (Tera Type) can bring knew life.
Perhaps the Johto Beasts were roaming living fossils (like Relicanth) and only 3 of them lived until the 1840s.
This means that Ho-Oh revived them at its image, losing the Dragon Type in the process of purification.
All of them being part Dragon could correlate to how the Sinjoh Creations Dragons also share that similiarity.
Dinosaurs becoming Felines is no different from Remoraid evolving to Octillery, at least to me.

I'm sure at least 1 other person (that being me) though Dipplin was a form of Applin, because it does look like it.

In terms of multiple entities counting as one Pokémon, I figured it is similar to the Portuguese man o' war and other siphonophores. The entire colony counts as one organism, yet it has distinct units that would appear to be their own organisms but wouldn't actually be able to survive on their own.

    • @TamValleyProductions
      @TamValleyProductions  Рік тому +1

I completely agree. I said something similar in my Maushold theory a few months back that Pokemon like this pretty much are comprised of "polyps" - identical clones that cooperate and make a larger entity but are technically biologically distinct.

1:Raging Bolt is based on a BRACHIOSAURUS, Brontosaurus wasn't even a real dinosaur until a couple of years ago
2: The legendary beasts aren't exactly feline, Entei is a lion but Raikou is a Smilodon which closest living relatives are bears and as for Suicune it's definitely more canine than anything

i sort of subscribe to theory that the Paradox Pokemon are created out of imagination, however, if that's wrong, I don't think the Paradox Beasts are ancestors of the Modern Beasts, instead I think its an example of convergent evolution, the Wiglet and Toadscool line being introduced in this gen makes me think they're expanding on the idea with these lil dudes

Cobalion would be my favorite new reveal, if they did more with it. I don't know why most future paradox pokemon tend to just be robotized and that's it. I think it looks cool when it's horns are all extended, but that's only an in game animation it seems. I sometimes think it looks like Cobalion has wings maybe they could have gave Cobalion actual wings just to change things up. Cobalion is one of my favorite looking legendaries, so I wish they added. Anyway tl;dr I wish the future paradox pokemon would just be changed up more.

    • @bluekirby_64
      @bluekirby_64 Рік тому

There's a distinction to be made between "robot" and "metal" here. As far as the former goes, all of the future Paradoxes are robots because, well, that's their whole concept (like the past ones being dinosaurs); when it comes to the latter however, Iron Jugulis and Iron Thorns are the only ones that just make the Pokemon metallic, everyone else gets some sort of change/upgrade from the original. For example, Iron Treads curls itself into a ball and rolls with only the trunk moving, Iron Hands has much longer range than Hariyama as well as being more compact by attaching its hands to the body while in sleep mode, and of course there's Iron Valiant who's the most evident with the lightsaber. Even Iron Leaves has the same gimmick as Iron Crown where it grows horns when using its signature move, but the former was first revealed as an artwork while the latter was shown in action, so people got a better first impression and are actually liking Crown now.
If you're looking for a future Paradox that's always showing its differences, then you'll probably be disappointed by most of them, because their strengths are in their function, not in their form.

Dipplin’s Supersweet Syrup and Syrup Bomb are game changers. The utilities for Supersweet Syrup include:
-Stopping opponents’ evasion strats (even though it has a bad matchup against Garchomp and Articuno, especially Articuno)
-Carrying teammates with low-accuracy moves, or teammates that run Hustle (bye bye, RNG hell)
For Syrup Bomb, here’s how I see it being used:
-As speed control to cripple fast mons like Dragapult, Flutter Mane, and Iron Bundle (assuming it tanks the initial hit)
    -For super effective STAB
-To give Enamorus an speed boost (Contrary allows for fun strats)
-In Trick Room to make your slow mons even slower, to guarantee they go first (even though it’s super effective against Ursaluna, which might further incentivize Ursa going Tera Normal, other than just to get an ludicrously strong Facade capable of OHKOing even bulky resists like Corviknight)
