    I knew you guys did colab vids all this time but didn’t know it started from this actually vid. First time watching it. It’s very strikingly obvious you are an awesome bloke Rod. Have been a follower of your vids for almost 3yrs now. What stands out in this vid is your generosity, you helped Timmy to get his pipe dream out there by actually swimming behind the raft, you actually carried all the weight out there for him so that he could have success, so that his dream could come true. I am very much similar to you. I have made a lot of friends by helping them out just like you. I’ve loaned out kayaks, set all up, carried it all out, dragged it off the roof etc. I feel how you feel, sometimes you know you are at a better position than someone else and just happy to go out of your way to help them, to bring to them a smile.
    One thing I would like to share with you though. Don’t get yourself be used. Many of those I did help never lasted long on my friend list but the ones that lasted forged a really strong friendship with me. Friends are plentiful Rod, but good friends are very rare and precious.
    Keep those vids coming mate. Love it!!

    Skull-dragging fish in with that Penn Slammer hahha

    • @rokkitkit
      @rokkitkit  7 років тому

      Yea the 5500 is a bit of overkill for spotties for sure but you never know what else will be zipping around. The outer reel I was catching on was the 3500 so a little more sporting.

    • @preferredstock9338
      @preferredstock9338 7 років тому

      I've the Penn Clash 8000 which can be overkill for most landbased fish. I bought it with the ambition to hunt Jewies and Kingfish. Taken to the beach only a few times. How do you clean your reel internals after a good day of saltwater splashing?

    seem to be having a little trouble with my slammer III, well not sure if im having trouble or its the new drag system but it gets to a point that when i try and loosen it it just wont loosen and its still to much drag for using baits and letting fish run off with them, hooked 2 sharks and bent 2 rod holders last fishing trip and almost lost my rod and reel :(

    • @rokkitkit
      @rokkitkit  7 років тому +1

      I have a NRS Zen and a Ultra Trek II... the NRS is the black one its nice and compact but Had to remover some of the buoyancy in the front as it stopped me from being able to swim so not the best choice if your not comfortable with the idea of cutting it and mucking around with the foam... The Ultra is very popular here and is comfortable for paddling as it has neoprene to stretch and mould nice and snug, also lots of pockets in the right places. Cheers Rod

    Recommendation to power you Kayak electronics I picked one up today Its called the "Berkley Power Pack" I bought the 12volt 9amp in also comes with charger and you are able to connect a USB cable to recharge phones and other USB based things around 80.00 American dollars here in Minnesota. 90 hours on one charge for Sonars.

    • @rokkitkit
      @rokkitkit  7 років тому

      Hey David, good to hear its working for you. I don't tend to use the Lead batteries anymore as the weight factor starts to blow out. I use a lifepo4 lithium battery. They have a similar output but weigh in at about 500grams. Super light!

    hey rokkit im a big fan of your channel and a kayak fisho to but have only fished Morton bay and haven't gone open water yet what wind speed would be good at palm beach for a first attempt at open water kayak fishing?

    • @rokkitkit
      @rokkitkit  7 років тому +1

      Hey mate, it really depends on what your comfortable with I guess. But pick a low wind and swell day until your ready to take on more. Id say swell under 1metre is nice and 10km wind or less would be a nice day. Head out with a buddy the first few times if they have a bit of experience. Cheers Rod
