I also played the debut CDs of The Outfield and Crowded House equally as much. The Hooters also put on one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

Excellent list! Especially White Lion, very underrated and overlooked band. Still remember the first time I heard "When the children cry", had my alarm set to the local rock station for my morning wake up in Jr. high, woke up one morning to that song and thought I was dreaming it was so haunting. Still takes me back to that sleepy morning every time I hear it.

My parents made me take my 5 year old brother to the Stryper White Lion concert in Bristol, TN. I made the bright decision to take us into the pit. We pushed through the crowd to the stage. I put my little brother on my shoulders. Michael Tramp grabbed my little brother off my shoulders and allowed him to sit on the side of the stage. My brother passed 9 years ago. Every time Wait plays it tears me up inside. Love that song. Thanks for taking me back to 1989.

Thanks for sharing your memory of you and your Dad with us. I've got one in particular with my Mom, who passed away from cancer in 2013. You've actually already covered the song in question, Space Age Love Song. We were driving around on some random errand in what must've been 2007/2008, and it came on the radio (shoutout to 93.7 Jack FM). I immediately fell in love with that opening guitar riff, and asked her if she knew the song title. She was beaming, and told me all about A Flock of Seagulls. She was born in 1970, so she got to experience the best of the 80's. To this day, whenever I'm in a rut or just not feeling too hot, I can throw on Space Age Love Song and be transported back to that moment. It's like I'm arm in arm with her, listening along in the crowd at one of their shows, smile on my face and tears welling in my eyes. Thanks for all you do and for sharing your love of music with us!

I completely agree with you on John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band. I was obsessed with that album. Money man has always been a favorite of mine and to share my story of songs taking us back in time to memories we shared with loved ones then here is mine-
I lost my youngest little brother when he was only 6 weeks 21 years old and as a little boy he would brilliantly sing out Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog by 3 Dog Night and as he got older he grew into this really great guitar player and he loved Ozzy Osbourne. Fast Forward to my other younger brother ( he was the middle sibling of 3 kids ) and he was shot and killed while doing his job on a glorious 71 degree morning in April. Unfortunately, we had a misunderstanding and he left this realm before we made amends. That’s so hard! 5 weeks later I went to see Like Bryan by myself and for my birthday. I had forgotten about his song Drink A Beer so when he started to play it I was immediately taken back to both my brothers and our time together as children. I began to silently weep and all of a sudden the woman standing to the left of me put her hand into mine and raised our arms up together and then a few seconds after that the woman on my right side did the same thing. There we were 3 strangers coming together in song and memory and suddenly like a dream it was my brother Bill on my left, and my brother Kenny on my right, and we were kids again! I will never forget it! It was incredibly profound. Thanks for letting me share! ♥️
Anytime I hear Jeremiah was a Bullfrog or Crazy Train I instantly remember my brother Kenny and I get teary eyed, or bawl, and any time I hear Kenny Chesney or Garth Brooks I instantly think of my brother Bill and I get teary eyed, or bawl. I miss them so very much!

I love those albums so much and I listened to those with my family all through the 80's and loved them all. We knew every lyric to every song on them! My dad was born and raised in Albania and emigrated to the States in the 60s. He wasn’t a big fan of American music so we didn’t have any songs or artists that we shared a love for - until Rod Stewart released “Forever Young”. For some reason, that song and video struck a chord with my dad. I remember buying Rod’s “Out of Order” cassette tape and giving that to my dad as a gift. Similar to the story of how Eddie Money’s song caught you off guard at the grocery store, I can’t hear “Forever Young” without immediately thinking of my dad and getting a little emotional.
