I just found out yesterday, and I feel so disappointed. Will I ever learn how to sing?

It is my greatest hope that you find this information helpful and HOPEFUL! If I can stress any ONE thing about tongue ties to the world, it’s how malicious they are to proper singing technique. It’s not a coincidence that you find singing difficult and found my channel. Please take this as a sign that if you haven’t been improving as much as you would like, it’s not your fault. It’s not that you did anything wrong. It’s not that you don’t understand or that you aren’t dedicated- it’s that there’s a physical structure stopping you. Having a tongue tie is like running a marathon with your shoe laces tied together. FREE yourself from the tension -and even just as importantly- from the stress and guilt.

My tongue doesn’t go flat when I stick it out. It doesn’t cup, but it doesn’t look flat.
The back is flat, but the tip points straight up and my whole tongue also bends to the left.

Sounds like it could be a few things: it could be that the musculature of the tongue is stronger on one side than another, or similarly that the fascia that runs between the muscle groups is tighter on one side. However, my gut guess is that you could have an asymmetric, mid-and-posterior tongue tie. Tongue ties restrictions are not always even on both sides. They can also cause asymmetric restrictions, which can only be released with surgery. Here is a photo of one of my past clients showing such:

@@OpusMyo Oh wow! Thank you for this! Some of these just blew my mind!
The person with the crooked teeth have the exact same crooked teeth as mine. That’s nuts!

@@OpusMyo Thank you for the response. I believe you may be right about the tongue tie being tighter on one side.
I can see where it’s tied at and it seems pretty tight from the looks of it? I also have both lips tied as well..
Hopefully there’s someone who knows about this stuff in my area that can cut them for me. I’d love to sing freely, but as of now it hurts.. I know how to sing, but I can’t do it anymore.
