Less grip always equals more realistic scale speed and more fun, for me. That’s why imo one should use street tires for offroad and drift tires for onroad rc racing. 👍
Hey looks like a great way to survive the 6 month winter here in the Peg! I would be interested in joining in next winter, please let me know if this would be ok! Great vid!
We use to put those little gold push pins inside the tires with the point coming threw the tires and glue them in the tires home made studded tires this was in the 80s lol rc cars have come along way since radio shack rc cars
at those cold temps I would imagine you could really gear the car high! Without little worry of overheating anything. It would also help with wheel spin I would think by smoothing out the torque. Of course this all me just thinking with my fingers!! Cool video and the camera car did really well considering the camera has to sit that high!
Both kits are very good. However I prefer the xv01...has gear differentials which means less maintenance if built correctly. Also has a smooth belt drive system. DF03ra has ball diffs which are very effective but need to be cleaned often. If you buy the xv01 pro you get TRF shocks, cvd's, and other goodies. XV01 pro is a great all around car...rally and on-road car. First upgrade is the Tamiya white springs part# 49382 with stock oil. The springs are a must for performance!
+Lee Mcfarlane Bought them from the local hobby shop. If you don't have one, try online... Amain Hobbies, tower hobbies, RC mart. They are normal 1/10 scale RC rally cars. The ice polished the day before and was very slippery. The ones we are running are made by Tamiya but companies like HPI, Vaterra and Traxxas make them as well.
It's too bad IFMAR banned traction control for touring cars! Rally cars can often benefit from a slipper clutch, but there is no sanctioned rally class, so most manufacturers modify touring chassis for rally....
We tried to get half the track on the snowy parking lot but the snow was too deep. So it just ended up being an ice race. I have other RC rally vids. Check them out
Haha believe it or not you need traction to drift. This ice was just groomed a couple days earlier and was very slippery. I dare you to try it and see if you could do any better. Btw some of these guys race on road at national level so they know what's going on.
Haha! These cars are awd with tires as hard as stone. Changing direction is very difficult when tires are hard and when the ice is groomed. It's actually scary to walk on it. It takes more patience and skill to drift on ice than on any other surface. Don't believe me? Try it and post a video 😀
On the same slick surface? Bahaha post a vid. I'd like to see that. We could hardly stand up straight on the ice. It was that slippery. Besides, a slash isn't a rally car.
+Riley Derifield an obvious solution....derp. Wanna show us how to do that on low profile rally tires? For such small tires, the challenge is keeping the wheels balanced. Severe vibration at high wheel speed is inevitable.

All of you did a super job with the venue set up and layout...... why didn't you prepare some studded tires??????????????????
Always welcoming new racers!

ICE gets drift
do you think that it is better for a beginner to get the xv01 or the df03ra? please reply, and thanks!
Très joli. nice!
how are the tyres?
gotta get some old school metal spike tires from proline.
This is awesome 🔥
how do you get the batteries to last?
Are those 1/10 scale
Looks like a blast, nice video
no way you put keys and krates in this video...
So, if this is what RC racing during a July day in Winnipeg looks like...

Looks like a lot of fun! Great video! What tires do you use? With spikes?
What is the music ?
where do you get the evo iv body?
I bought it online from RCMart. Check out my other RC vids!

Where did u buy the drifting cars

Well done!! Very well done!!!
Why don't you go full throttle
If you go too fast it's hard to change direction when you need to. This ice was groomed the day before.
Thanks Superdog!
Great music!!

use your drift skill on ice , that works ^^
U stated that it was rally not drift

When rally racing became drifting
Those are 4wd, don't hold back
Paul we tried but lack of traction on the ice was an issue. Carry too much speed and the cars will severely understeer.
Nice
ok

Come on guys, my 9 year old little sister drifts better...

My traxxas slash would do better than those
