carpethatdiem I was a coke/meth addict for 5 yrs and quit cold turkey by ditching all my friends. it's hard, no lie, but is worth it and you'll love yourself for it.

@@rumblefish9 There IS a mildly-their experience is that they use less than they used to and that’s a big deal - it doesn’t mean that we aren’t addicts any less - they admit to still be struggling with it and that’s also a big deal- @carpethadiem; you are NOT alone -keep trying to be better … one day at a time

Katya is right about Portugal. All drugs are de-criminalised. Users get put in rehabilitation program instead of jail. Its one of the few things Portugal does right :P

I think she's right though... Having drugs criminilized doesn't help. Punishing people in vulnerable positions only worsens their situation, and addiction is much more about mental well-being than it is about an actual chemical addiction. Legalizing drugs and focusing on helping people rather than punishing them is what is proven to actually work, and reduce drug use. :)

+Mister Disco Plus Portugal really did decriminalize all *drug consumptions* and the rates of addiction dropped like crazy.

I don't know if I'm too sensitive, but this part of the interview just broke my heart. I struggle with anxiety and panic attacks and hearing her talking about her feelings during Drag Race makes me feel her so much. I mean, I loved her since I first saw her with the Soviet character, but noticing how real she is about her struggles made me stay.

When i watched season 7 I noticed that Katya was usually pretty quiet in the workroom but she always had so much to say in the interview clips! And it's the same here, they don't even need to ask her any questions because she has so much to say :D

I'm an art student. I would have to say I disagree because the opportunities are amazing for art students. You just have to find them and apply.
+Bunbi I took it to mean that it's not necessary unless you're studying something that requires a lot of practical training, like law, medicine, or engineering. You can be an artist and you definitely don't need to go to college for it.
+Cesar Ita I think the meaning is deeper than that. Like, for an artist, the ideas and the creativity are what matter, so it's not the end of the world if you don't go to college or can't afford going to.

I love Katya even more after this interview. I hope she takes this year to relax and continue to work on her mental health. Everyone needs a break sometime and she surely deserves it. ♡

Rewatching this interview....Katya has evolved so so so much.....I identify as someone who has a ton of stuff going on in my head and when it lands it either confuses people or makes SO much sense at the time and what Ive learned is not everyone needs to have access to all my magic. Katya is so much more relaxed and succinct in interviews...she bestows her audience with weirdness at the perfect times now

I love the way Katya and Miss Fame DO seem like the odd couple of drag that is a formula that just works. It almost pains me the way Katya is so not even aware at how completely gorgeous and talented she actually is. Yet her cynicism and self criticism is what I actually like the most about her.
Katya/Brian is not only my favorite queen, but genuinely one of my favorite people on this fucking planet. I'm so happy she's getting better 😔🙏

Keeping it Real With Katya. I could see this being a show. And I would watch it. Even when she's discussing some pretty serious topics, she's entertaining to watch and she makes you think... darn, respect just keeps growing.
Katya probably scaled from 10 to 100. She is so humble and so likable.

Honest, kooky,fun and intelligent.Drug related crime is escalating, the only way forward is to decriminalise and put them in the hands of responsible authorities, providing safe spaces, safe product, health information and testing. The Mexican cartel have given up smuggling weed since its legalisation, but killing 10 times more people than the heroin and cocaine they still smuggle. Its time we took a leaf from Katya and Jonny's book and not stay silent on this.
