9:21 I was at towne dance boutique on gingers 30th birthday back in 2016. I stumbled into the back room where she and jiggly and a few of the other queens were drinking after the show amd I turned around like I wasnt supposed to be thers. Ginger said "No, wait come sot woth us!" That was the first time I met her and she was the nicest person in the world. She invited everyone to go to the museums in DC the next morning with her amd jiggly. We left the club that night at the same time and I asked her for a picture which I still love. Shes the best! Not stuck up like jiggly lol

I agree mainly with Ginger in it wasn't appropriate to say but what Sasha was saying that in that top 4 everyone was a entertainer, I think she meant because in each season such as 7 there was a only look based queen like Pearl, or Kimchi in season 8 who didn't necessarily sing, dance, or act, but was string in another aspect like visual, so she most likely didn't mean any harm for it, I think it was just not very understood. It isn't to take away from any other queens achievement or to subcatagorize them and put their talents on a lower level, but just stating what it was the top 4 queens were in the category of

I don't remember Trixie ever coming out and saying she had any problems with Ginger Minj. Idk maybe I'm out of the loop, I'm confused.
You're not, she was telling jokes, sometimes tired ones about "Katya's best friend". People take a lot seriously
Well... two years later both Trixie and Katya hinted at the fact that they both were only really friends with Ginger on the show, and when they met for the first time/visited each other, the chemistry wasn't there anymore, there was no common ground or mutual interests really and they kinda just talking to each other.

Actually trixie said only that ginger had beef with people then would say she didn't like in interviews. It was at or around the same time that she said that the one thing about Alyssa Edwards was even if she did get in some beefs she at least would call or whatever just to squash it. Trixie on one of the he queen things she actually said there was made aware of stuff ginger had beef with her but she didn't . I like ginger and all but it really is like sometimes she feels she either needs to kiss up to some or bash some to please fans or something.

I think it’s so interesting looking back at season 1. Really shows just how much drag race have changed.
They more or less praised Rebecca to the moon and back for going down the runway in your everyday basic cotton H&M dress with nothing done to it.
And hated most of Shannels looks. Shannels runways and look is definitely the most similar to what we see now.
It’s polished, it’s expensive, it gives a show, it was bigger than life and extra.
And she is a talented makeup artist.
She had modified her body much in the same way that we see many queens get a loads of screen time and praise for in the later seasons.
It’s was just interesting to go back and look at season 1 and see all the things that would give Shannel the best chance out of everyone in season 1 to be a frontrunner in later seasons, is basically what the show dislikes about her back then.
They seemed to really push so hard for realness and was actively against anything that was distinctly drag.
They wanted a believable female impersonator not a drag queen. And under those circumstances you get why Rebecca did so well.
To think that drag race started out in that mindset is honestly sort of unbelievable.
I think if Rebecca would have just had the tiniest bit of more performance experience, luck with the type of challenges or handled the pressure better she would have won.
I think she even should have won easily just because the judges loved her so much.

the change in fan response is interesting though because both are essentially white/white passing skinny "look" queens who underperformed in their seasons, and lowkey pulled out simple runway looks. It's fascinating that while in season 1 they were rewarding Rebecca for her mediocrity and getting backlash, rewarding Pearl for it was extremely successful.
TLDR: Rebecca probably would've been a fan favourite s7 onwards

Ginger is so under rated. Not just a Glamour Toad or fabulously funny. But she sang the roof off for the Harvey Fierstien celebration, and performed the best version of I am what i am that i ever heard.
I watched this entire interview and look at huh and I have to say Ginger really let us see her raw emotions. I can watch her and Johnny talk non stop about life and over coming hardships. Ginger, thank you for being you and sharing a bit of yourself to us

I always liked Ginger and I always found her hang up about losing season 7 quite funny. But after seeing this, a new 'nice' side to her and loving all her 'sisters and after her rant against Sasha I've seen a different side to her. She REALLY is still hung up about what happened in season 7 and the fact she didn't win. As a grown ass entertainer she should know that Sasha, if anything, mostly said that for promotion purposes. Every single queen that's been in a final will say that their finale was the most exciting. Ginger, cmon girl, time to let go.

Well, given that Violet was mostly safe or low outside of her 3 wins, Ginger is right. Ginger, Katya, and Kennedy had many wins and many top positions. They are more versatile than Violet, who only won fashion challenges and a dumb dance pair challenge.

While Trixie threw shade at Ginger, if you watch the Look at Huh with Trixie and Katya, Trixie makes a comment about Ginger is the kind of queen you want to see!
Im so happy she shouted out Town Dance Boutique in DC! That was/is the best gay club in DC and im so sad that its closing. Nothing even comes close to how spectacular Town was. And its all because these "rich" people came in and bought out the building and area right there off Florida Avenue to put in Apartments. I so wish they were moving instead of closing. It was so easy to get to also. Literally as soon as you cross the DC line from Maryland its on the right off Florida Ave...many good times there. Sasha Velour performed there on her Birthday. Sucks...now there's cobalt, which is shit.

A respectable amount of fashion style, and a sudden death win does NOT necessarily make a young queen wise or worldly. That only comes with (real) time and experience.
I love Ginger, but Sasha was not really that shady when she said that, it was just her opinion. Many seasons has had top 3-4 contestants that most people thought did not deserve to be there: Rebecka Glasscock, Pearl, Kameron Michaels etc.

I'm sorry but as far as Sasha's comment goes, I do agree with Sasha. There was not always an entertainer in all top threes. Kim Chi for example (I love her and wanted her to win season 8) she is looks queen. Stunning and amazing, talented but not a performer/entertainer. And Pearl for example, I like her and her make up is amazing but her lip syncs were nothing special. My opinion, no one should be offended

You can say the same about bob if you are saying Naomi’s aesthetic and juju bees amazing personality and sense of humor weren’t strong enough to surpass a bad runway or runways were the only thing good about Naomi. Bobs strength was def not the looks.

I feel like when Sasha said that about the Season 9 finale she meant that for the first time in a long time (or possibly ever) any of the Top 4 could have won and been equally worthy. I can only think of one or two other seasons where this is the case. Season 1 had Rebecca Glasscock in the Top 3 (who was so far below the other two that it was pretty much a joke), Season 2 had Jujubee (who is absolutely fucking phenomenal but hadn't won a single challenge and had been in the Bottom 2 twice), Season 3 had Alexis Mateo (who had won quite a bit but compared to Manila and Raja was obviously not going to win), Season 4 had PhiPhi O'Hara (whose villain status guaranteed her loss before the finale even aired), Season 5 had Roxxxy (who had the same problem PhiPhi had), Season 7 had Pearl (who was lovely and a lot of fun but no one thought she had a chance), Season 8 had Naomi Smalls (who no one thought would win when put up against Bob or Kim) and All Stars 2 had Roxxxy in the Top 4- a girl who had been placed in the bottom every single episode save the first. Outside of Season 6 (where even there you could make the argument that Courtney didn't stand a chance) Season 9 is the only one where, even though there was a clear front-runner for the crown due to wins (Shea Coulee)- you could have made the argument why each of the queens deserved the crown. It was also the first finale, due to how it was set up, where anyone COULD have won regardless of stats. I don't think Sasha meant anything negative about previous seasons- just that the format and public standing of each queen gave the episode a much more edge-of-your-seat vibe than previous seasons. She could have worded it better, but she's too nice and respectful to be that insulting of the previous seasons.
Aedan Roberts and season 9 had peppermint, that would be totally robbery if peppermint won. She is respectable queen yes but she didnt do well in drag race.

I don't think there was actually anything between them... Trixie has said multiple times that she loves Ginger and that she absolutely adores her. Maybe there was a time of tension, but I honestly think that was because the fans talking shit about how Ginger thinks her and Katya are best friends when really its Trixie and Katya who are "best friends".

Gurl... Ginger season 7 was the worst example of an equal top 3. Pearl was not going to win - in fact, Pearl didn't even deserve to be there past that tragic lipsync against Trixie where Ru only kept her because she was pretty. Sasha's comment may have been inappropriate but don't act like there wasn't some truth to it.

Ginger Ming is such a classy Queen. I love everything about her. Even when people have problems with her (like when she was talking about Trixie), she still has absolutely nothing but good things to say about the other person. It would have been so easy for her to pop off and start some BS and get attention and publicity but instead she said nothing but nice things. Every Queen should take some notes from Ging 🧡
