    This guy does outstanding work. Something as small as taking the extra 5 minutes to run the sensor under the return, where it ideally should be, speaks volumes about his work ethic. His customers are lucky to have him. I'm willing to bet even the ones that try other contractors because of pricing eventually come crawling back. What a tech!

    I have watched so many on your videos feel like I have had a full apprenticeship with you. First thing I thought when I saw the title was "bad temp controll" and sure enough. Just goes to show how good your content is and how great of a teacher you are.

    Kept the beer walk-ins at 28.
    Perfect temp for kegs.
    Nearly zero foam at the taps which means more profit for the bar.
    Any higher and you lose about 1/4 of the kegs to foam.
    It's literally a science .

    i had to repeatedly go and add R404 at a local evidence locker fore a very advanced Freezer unit requiring -10 degrees fore there freezer evidence locker fore the local police department and was having repeated issues with a secondary freezer unit that is set to work during the daylight hours. i did have a very leaky king valve and told them its imperative it be replaced but every time i came they just told me to add refrigerant. so, I feel you when it comes to trying to do the right thing and replaced critical components, thanks fore the spill with those controllers and the critique on the different model specifications fore the appropriate ones.

    When I saw where the temp probe was in relation to discharge air & the light my first thought was to move it to the fan grille which you said not even a second later in the video lol

    In this case you could raise the setpoint to how far the sensor is out of calibration to get them by... tip of the day... 😅

    having the sense bulb on the return air fan grille will likely cause far more cycling vs. having it near the wall getting less overall, but better blended air mix.
    it may even short cycle with very short on or off bursts, causing the control short cycle protection to be on more than off. especially if door/s are opened often or held open frequently.
    I know some of those electronic sensors work overly fast, compared to old mechanical bulbs which had greater thermal mass. 😁 maybe over-thinking it though.

    One thing that I don't really understand is why it's such a common thing to have the controller inside the box in ste US.
    Maybe it's just my country, but here it's always outside, makes sense when you think about the moisture that will inevitably make its way on the board imo.
    Still, top quality content as always.

    • @halverde6373
      @halverde6373 6 місяців тому

      Agreed. The controls aren't actually designed to be in that space, unless you coat the board with plastic spray.
      ALWAYS opt for a Ranco A12 1560 or1506.
      Constant cut-in. Only difference is one has a coiled bulb and the other is straight.

    Ranco A12-1560 or 1506 thermostat, depending on application to control solenoid valve
    Get rid of air sensor.
    Keep it simple.
    It's constant cut-in.
    No need for a defrost clock either.

    Ke2 IS the best temp controller for a WIC bar none. You will be probably be back within a few years to replace that garbage defrost clock once it gets a little sand in it or one of the contacts goes bad. One on left probably replaced in 2020+ based on the 2019 manufacture code on it.

      Some beer made with wheat will taste terrible if it ever gets too cold. I forget the name, it's a 28% ABV beer. People not ready for it get blotto. But I doubt anyone in the US will ever be served this by accident. It's not common.

    Our server room has an opposite problem. The ac blows directly on the thermostats and it never got cool enough. I installed air baffles to stop the air flow hitting the thermostats

    • @mrbyamile6973
      @mrbyamile6973 6 місяців тому

      Keep in mind it will short cycle that thing to death. Also, many thermostats, specially Honeywell, have a maximum cycle per hour lick out. Default CPH is often 4, that means it will only allow the compressor to cycle on 4 times in an hr before temporarily locking out compressor operation.

I'm repairing electronics and let me tell you, there are no sign of water in this controller and old doesn't mean it don't work. Change a sensor, or better measuring it, cost you a couple of minute. Than you know if it is the controler or not.

However….😂😂 I also have been wrong on my guess before troubleshooting… laughing my old mentor used to swap me on the arm and say stop diagnosing before you even get there🤣🤣🤣
