  • We make a prototype collar to attach a stainless-steel mesh air screen to the 90 degree air horn of an updraft A Winfield Carburetor. The screen cannot be mounted flush to the horn because butterfly movement clearance must be maintained.
We machine a sleeve to fit the air horn, mount it to the carb with a small set screw and safety wire the screen to the sleeve. In the future we may redesign or copper plate it to match the original finish of the Winfields. This screen and collar set up was custom made for a customer who drives their Ford Model A up and down a rural dirt road. While this screen won’t filter out all dirt particles, it will prevent small stones and debris from getting in the barrel.
