Daily - Buffalo Trace Mixer - Even Williams 100 proof Friday Night - Eagle Rare 10 year Impress - E H Taylor Single Barrel Special - Sam Houston 14 year
Just stumbled upon your channel. Love your style. Casual, relaxed and never pretentious. I never felt like I was being talked down to. Everything about this video made me think, “I’d like to drink some bourbon with these guys!”
My list Daily - Makers Mark Mixer - Jack Daniel's (I know it's a Tennessee whiskey, but it meets all requirements to be called Bourbon, so deal with it) Friday night - Four Roses small batch select Impress - Blanton's Special occasion - George T Stagg
Daily: Elijah Craig Small Batch Mixer: Ancient Age Friday Night: Four Roses Single Barrel Impress: Blanton’s (presentation lol) Special Occasion: 2018 BTAC George T. Stagg
Ok ok… my everyday drink is Knob Creek single barrel… I don’t drink mixers.. when I get off work and want to chill it Weller SR…To impress my friends is Sam Houston 15. … special occasion is old Fitzgerald 18
I don't have or care to impress anyone, I just drink what I like. Buffalo Trace would be my daily if it wasn't so hard to find so I'll have it once in awhile. Knob Creek would be my daily right now. I also like The Duke, and never pass up on Stranahan's even though it's not considered Bourbon.
My guests are usually much more casual whiskey drinkers than I am. I keep cheaper lower proof stuff like TX Blended and Jim Beam Extra Aged on the shelf for them,.. and nine times out of ten they actually prefer that stuff over whatever I am drinking, because they are not used to the higher proofs.
Great List, would love to try that Russell's 13....This is where I land. Daily: Bulliet Mixer : Wild Turkey 101 Impress: Whistle Pig Farmstock Friday night: Blantons/Willets Special: Weller 12 year
Daily: Buffalo Trace / Old Elk Mixer : Woodford Reserve for my old fashions Impress: Jefferson Ocean Friday night: Woodford double oak Special: it's a single malt Stranahanns Cab Calloway. 117.5 proof. Only available at a cask thief. hard to find and refuse to open it unless for a real special occasion
Great list !!!! My special occasion bottle is my bookers rye. Cannot get another one and was lucky to get one in 2016 when they rolled out. I have a small bottle of it left to have with my son when he turns 21. I’ve literally only shared this bottle four time with folks and it never fails to blow my mind.
A question for you seasoned drinkers out there, as I am a newb to this arena. Am I wrong to keep my Bourbon/Whisky (everyday drink) in the freezer? Am I Stifling the full taste in any way?
So I have never had any experience with putting whiskey in a freeze but technically you shouldn't. Putting whiskey in the freezer can cause it to lose flavor over time. Might be better off putting a glen in the freezer or using ice instead.
I have 350 bottles, none are opened, i have another 45 bottles, opened. I prefer to drink the 30.00 bottles, I collect the ridiculous bottles but i started many years ago
Enjoyed watching to the point I think I'm gonna do a reddit must have bourbon video as well 🤣🤣🤣 keep It up guys ..."I was mad the whole ride back" classic 🤣🤣
Agree that ECBP is another great choice and yes is easier to grab that bottle then the other two. But my guy you got to crack open that RR13 is it literally one of the best bottles we have had all year(in our opinion).
Decent picks. Benchmark works as a mixer. Do not sleep on EW BIB. Fantastic anyway you want. Best idea is to keep your Woodford bottle when you are done and fill it with EW BIB. All them bourbon newbies will come over and frontrun on the Woodford and never know the difference. They will think you are solid and bring wings, pizza and sushi every time they come over. Under the radar daily drinker? OGD114 and WT 101
It’s all relative. What we can find depends on our location. I’m glad everyone doesn’t have the same 5, or you’d never find any of them. Different tastes are what makes the world go round.
I agree with the Evan Williams bottles. It's just daggone good. I have two bottles of Stagg Jr #15 and that is awesome. The higher allocated bottles don't need to be in my house unless for some reason I get a GIFT!!! Ahahahahaha Nice video.
Hey... Dave "Chris" Hanson... How is RR 13 a weekly pour for something that maybe an annual or is possibly even a one time release? Lol... Come on!! Love the content gents! Keep it up!
I picked up the Russels 2003 at my local store at msrp end of last year. It was just sitting on the special shelf. Right place right time I guess? I have yet to crack it open. Looking forward to it
I have been a Jack Daniels drinker my whole life. Single barrel select and barrel proof are my day to day neat drinks. gentleman jack and white rabbit saloon are my two mixers. I want to expand and I'm thinking a Wild turkey rare breed along with a Old forester 1920 for starters. Please if you have any suggestions of bottles in the 50 to 100 dollar range please comment.
So first off I would highly recommend Rare Breed and 1920 all day. And we will sooner rather then later have a new video or two talking about some great bottles around that price.
Daily and Mixer = Henry McKenna, Friday Night = Four Roses Single Barrel, Impress = Evan Williams 1783 (don't laugh, this is a delicious sipper at an amazing price...which is why it's impressive), Special = Angel's Envy
Not impressed with Reddit or any other site that says this is all you need. Make your own choices per your taste buds and enjoy. Enjoy the trip getting to the most likeable whiskeys of your choice and who cares who does or doesn't like them. You know you will.
You could blindfold me and randomly point to anything on your wall and that would easily fill any of the slots on my list. Well, except the cheap mixer.
@@LeatherDaddy97 I am a Blanton's fan. I was wondering why it was not on this "you only need 5"-list an how you guys feel about that neat bottle with that rider on top.
@@harcomou8395 oh. It wouldnt fit into any of these categories for me. Theres just better things for the price in every category. Blantons best feature is the bottle. The whiskey inside is just "fine"

My list
Daily - Makers Mark
Mixer - Jack Daniel's (I know it's a Tennessee whiskey, but it meets all requirements to be called Bourbon, so deal with it)
Friday night - Four Roses small batch select
Impress - Blanton's
Special occasion - George T Stagg
I have most of those but there were a couple new ones for me. Thanks for doing this. New subscriber.
Love your channel! Great recommendations! I’d do the WT 101 for a mixer because it brings more of a peppery balance than the EW
Daily: Elijah Craig Small Batch
Mixer: Ancient Age
Friday Night: Four Roses Single Barrel
Impress: Blanton’s (presentation lol)
Special Occasion: 2018 BTAC George T. Stagg
Old granddad 114 is the best mixing bourbon and a stand alone sipper
OGD 114 is a monster of a bottle. You are right it is great for all of those things and that is why I keep one open on my bar at all times.
Ok ok… my everyday drink is Knob Creek single barrel… I don’t drink mixers.. when I get off work and want to chill it Weller SR…To impress my friends is Sam Houston 15. … special occasion is old Fitzgerald 18
I enjoyed your picks. If I had to pick my top bottle it would be William Larue Weller, although I am a huge Stagg Jr. fan as well.
I don't have or care to impress anyone, I just drink what I like.

That is totally fair and smart as well!
the best daily drinker is Old Forrester 1920 its also the bottle that impresses my guest the most!!!
Great vid guys. Never had Yellowstone but glad to see other alternatives than everyone else. But the Russ 13? Unicorn 🦄 lol
Great List, would love to try that Russell's 13....This is where I land.

That is one special bottle Chris. Maybe one of the best ryes ever made honestly.

Guys I appreciate you taking the time to inform and educate us on bourbon.
Thank you for supporting and watching the channel!!!!
First time seeing your channel and I've subscribed. Love the shelves behind you.
Thank you so much for the love and support.
Your Friday night pours are unobtainable...
For us we have been fortunate enough this year to collect these bottles.
Nice video - still love these 5 bottle ideas. Subscribed. Need to get you more subscribers than bottles on your shelves. Impressive!
I agree on two things. 1. Zach is short. 2. Dave cheats on picking bottles lol.
Short guys are always the last ones to know that it’s raining.

Thanks for the love and good luck with your channel my guy!
I've had both of those Evan Williams but I still prefer EW 1783...especially the new version at 90 proof.
My long week pour is ECBP! Love it and way eazier to find then your picks lol. But love me some Stagg Jr. Haven't had the balls to open my Russels 13.
Agree that ECBP is another great choice and yes is easier to grab that bottle then the other two. But my guy you got to crack open that RR13 is it literally one of the best bottles we have had all year(in our opinion).
ECBP in my view is the best value in bourbon up to $100

So many better options then those discussed in this video... I like those that I can at least find!!!
Sweet what are some of those better options in your opinion?
It’s all relative. What we can find depends on our location. I’m glad everyone doesn’t have the same 5, or you’d never find any of them. Different tastes are what makes the world go round.
You really only need 3 bourbons, shooter, sipper, and mixer.
Your not wrong my friend lol.
I think that the EW BiB tastes great neat. For slightly under $20 a fifth it's a steal.
I just picked this up on sale at Safeway for $12.59
13.99 in NW Indiana for a 750ml
I agree with the Evan Williams bottles. It's just daggone good. I have two bottles of Stagg Jr #15 and that is awesome. The higher allocated bottles don't need to be in my house unless for some reason I get a GIFT!!! Ahahahahaha Nice video.
Very nice!
Drinking game: take a shot every time dude says "literally"
You would be drunk 39 seconds into the video lol.
Figures that the goofball who can't stop saying "literally" picks Evan black over BIB. Puhleeze.
Hey... Dave "Chris" Hanson... How is RR 13 a weekly pour for something that maybe an annual or is possibly even a one time release? Lol... Come on!! Love the content gents! Keep it up!
No Buffalo Trace? < $40 and not crazy hard to find.
You could totally add BT to the list and not go wrong.
I picked up the Russels 2003 at my local store at msrp end of last year. It was just sitting on the special shelf. Right place right time I guess? I have yet to crack it open. Looking forward to it
Highly recommend opening it is a special bottle that is crazy hard to find!

You said king of Kentucky but what is the name of the other bourbon? You never said the name.
Maker's Mark Private Selection S IV
WT101 is all anyone needs! End of discussion. :)
Those last two bottles are tasty boys.
Reddit is filled to the brim with amateurs.
Daily - Larceny
Old Forrester 1920
I don't know about five, but after three Bourbons, I'm getting pretty blasted.
hahahaha
I don't think your list is wrong by any means, but I did notice I've got a completely different palate than the both of you.
What would your list be?
Great video
Thanks for the love Frank!
Nice vid but need the prices.
You guys should be drinking these while discussing them
Dave steals enough pours for the both of us during the video so I think we are covered lol.
Not impressed with Reddit or any other site that says this is all you need. Make your own choices per your taste buds and enjoy. Enjoy the trip getting to the most likeable whiskeys of your choice and who cares who does or doesn't like them. You know you will.
Rare Breed is the best. And David totally cheats.

Blanton's anyone?

@@LeatherDaddy97 Bourbon
