Kingbirds: the Karen's of the bird world
That’s the most accurate thing I’ve ever heard
Western kingbirds have some of the best visual memory I've ever seen. They migrate every winter from Arizona to wherever. But the same ones always always come back to the same trees, same home. They remember me, our dogs, and my other family members. We know this because they attack one specific dog of ours, but not the others. They attack one horse, which only comes back once every month. I've fed them before and they always fly by and wait as for more when I walk outside. They're great at keeping crows and vultures away. Very intelligent birds!
That’s amazing! Unfortunate for your dogs and horse but it’s so funny it remembers them specifically!
They are fiercely territorial. I've seen red tailed hawks flee desperately after wondering too close. Grey kings fly parallel to them. They perfom a very quick, tight looping, one hit dive attack in which they circle back up to the initial parallel position just to repeat it. If the hawk doesn't gain altitude in time it's dead.

Kingbirds are an interesting group, and as usual this might be the most creative way I’ve ever seen them presented before. Your footage of the kingbirds mobbing those ospreys was super cool, I’ve seen other birds attack corvids and raptors before but I’ve never seen kingbirds do it in the wild. Great kiskadees are some of my favorite passerines from Costa Rica, they were one of the first birds we saw down there so they have a special place in my heart. Fantastic work Donny!

Greak Kiskadees are actually very common in all of south america, and I have seen lots of them, even one bullying an Eagle. They also have a really nice song, which resembles the saying "Bien the ví" ( or "I saw you well" from Spanish to English ) and gives them the "Kis-ka-dee" name, as that is also an interpretation of what the bird sounds like. I guess that you have already heard it cuz you saw them irl, But I guess it's also something interesting to share, lol.

I have two kingbirds in my trees. They never attacked as I took pictures but I hear her chirping then the male stands by.
Amazing Tyrannical Bird
Have some that nest on my land. They're usually chill to me and my dogs. And they keep the birds my neighbor attracts to hunt from coming over to my house.
I have seen this scenario several times with Kingbirds and Red TaIL Hawks. I love these little guys they hang out my house all Summer. I love the crazy ways they fly and the crazy cackling sounds they make.
