Excellent instructions. The importance of positioning the 'starting' position of the machine prior to executing the G71 canned cycle was the reason I came to your video. I didn't understand why my machine (not a HAAS) was doing what it was doing. At least I know now and can ensure I am integrating this correctly into programs.

@darcustaseen1602 very cool! I'm glad this helped. That concept was difficult for students to understand, so I made a totally different video just on the clearance point. Thanks for watching

Hey I see you’re a teacher at Tulsa Tech. 🎉 I learned there . Tryna become more proficient at programming by implementing canned cycles into my programming . We don’t have programmers but stuffs pretty easy .

@tylerhanna1969 that's really cool that you came through the program. It's great to see that you're implementing canned Cycles into your programs, and you are correct it makes life so much easier. You keep learning how to do the programming, and you'll be the company's first programmer. Thanks for watching.

How do I use a G71 type 2 roughing canned cycle with g42 without alarms where would I compensate the tool nose radius ?

I've always turned on G42 two ways. With fanuc machines, I've turned it on while moving to the clearance position and then off while moving to home position. That normally works every time, but you can also turn it on inside the canned cycle on the "P" line and off on the "Q" while moving off the part. Just make sure your already off the part when turning it off or it will make your last wall angled. On my Fryer machines that are siemens control, when using G291it has G42 in the program and doesn't alarm out, but it didn't compensate for tool nose even with it being entered on the tool geometry. Still haven't figured that one out, but I hope the other info helps. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Hi peace! I don't use G73 in my curriculum, which is why I haven't made a video for it. BUT! Tomorrow, I'm going to share some code with you, and I'll explain how it works. The good news is the code is simple
