Hes one of those who is grumpy and sour faced, but actually quite cool when you see past that front. Plus everyone knew where they stood with Grantley he wasn't two faced or self-righteous
Quite the opposite! I’m sure from the moment he fell into that pool he was thinking about all the time off he was going to get and the compensation money he’d receive. The man was a bully and a bigot. Good riddance.
Alcohol was obviously to blame for the shenanigans at the swimming pool, like Paul accidentally hurting Bolton, but he made up for it by fetching Grantly and for calling the ambulance after Grantly came a cropper as well as Bolton. Grantly was excellent as a lifesaver, with the recovery position advice and everything, and I think Grantly also deserves the biggest round of applause for saving Bolton from drowning and for calling out Jem as an utter fraud and a liar! The part where all the pupils join in is icing on the cake, as is later on, with Eddie's appalled expression at Jem's arrogance and further lies, and the satisfaction of us AND Grantly at hearing that she's been sacked! Classic Waterloo Road, indeed!
@@NicholasJH96 Do you honestly think I don't know that they're just acting drunk and that it's just coloured water or something?? It's quite impressive that they can pull off that drunkenness that well as they're just kids, they're not likely to have that experience. Besides, I think the house is real as it's location filming.

What the staff and students don’t get is that Grantley has spent more time at Waterloo Road than anyone else, the school had always been unrealistically or far fetched chaotic and Grantly had dealt almost three decades of it, he knows a liar and a fraud when he sees one

This is what surprises me about this scene, when you call an ambulance you have to give a location for the ambulance to come to, but since Paul and the other students had never been to Jem's posh house before, how did Paul know what to say? It could be seen as a plothole, but didn't mobile phones back then have the means for the NHS to zero in on the location, like GPS? What do people think about this situation?
