I also love Rick Riordan, all the books in the riordanverse mean a lot to me, especially growing up as an ADHD kid. His book has humor, great plot, and likeable characters. And percy jackson fandom is my first bookish fandom that i've ever involved in.
Absolutely! I love how much he included and normalised ADHD etc! And how he has continued to normalise disability, sexuality, race etc, he really works to make kids feel seen!!☺️
The mangus chase series is what introduced me not only to the percy universe but also READING These books mean so much to me Got me through some things Fav characters are magnus, leo, nico, alex and meg Still love all the others
I've already read percy jackson and the lightning thief, the kane chronicles (my all time favourite), and I'm halfway through the heroes of olympus and I'm 👏🏽 loving 👏🏽 it!!!
DO IT! I’m an enabler😉😂 thank you so much, I had such a good time filming it because it just makes me so happy to talk about Rick Riordan and his books! Thanks for watching😌
Honestly my top three would be the Kane Chronicles trilogy. I adore those books - they mean a lot to me, and Carter and Sadie are two of my favourite protagonists of any book. Also, I just find Egyptian mythology more interesting than Greek, Roman or Norse, and it was nice having more scope beyond just the USA. To each their own, I guess - I personally never found them confusing, but I will confess that Red Pyramid was the first of his books I read.
I think the first book always has a special place! I read PJO so many times bcos I was obsessed and I think when I originally read The Kane Chronicles I wanted them to be PJO so I think that tainted my opinion of them a bit🙈 but I still stand by that the 2nd and 3rd books are so much stronger than the first!
I love Rick Riordan so much! I think what he is doing with his privelidge and platform is so amazing!!! I think my top 3 RR books are: 1. HOO House of Hades 2. Magnus Chase and the Hammer of Thor 3. TOA The Hidden Oracle

Yesssss, you must read on!! If you loved PJ, you HAVE to read Heroes Of Olympus it’s sooooo good! And yes, Loki is quite a big feature😂 he’s no Tom hiddleston, but he definitely gets up to plenty of mischief! I hope this video helped make things clearer, or more chaotic, who knows😂 thanks for watching!!
Blood of olympys.... awful, so disappointing and boring. I guess if ur into nico and reyna having 55% of the book, even though they are not even main characters!
Loved the books as a kid and I am soooo bored right now so I might re read heroes or Kane chronicles maybe finish magnus chase or finish the hidden oracle series which one would you suggest?
I’m not really the person that read when i was a kid but i love this book even at 18 years, i remembered i liked the concept of the movie and started on the book and afterwards hated the movie afterwards
Hero’s of Olympus The Lost Hero I JUST WANTED PERCY JACKSON I CAN RELATE! I think that because it’s following the Percy Jackson first series, it should have percy’s point of view in every book. When I mean every book, I MEAN EVEN TRIALS OF APOLLO.
It’s ok I have an American copy of the lightning thief, the og British cover for last Olympian, the cover design after that for titans curse and the design after that for sea of monsters and battle of the labyrinth. I’m organised.
Biggest Rick Riordan fan? 10:38 Because he spoke to Octavian about being the saviour of Rome so Zeus blames him for the two camps fighting and punished him.
@@izziesbusyreading7902 Can u explain why u put the mark of athena below blood of olympus and sea of monsters?!?! Also, why do u like Tyrants tomb, it was floppy and not even emotional. Frank should've died.
I hope dplus does all the seires I'm getting through heroes of Olympus it's a big seires lol I'm excited to exprenice new memerios so pumped dplus your doing great
Don’t know why I watched to the end but I did and I have some two cents to give :/ After reading Warrior Cats and watching Harry Potter go down the drain with The Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts, I’ve come to despise books that seemingly never end. Disclaimer: I still call Riordan my favorite author because most of my own voice in writing was inspired by him, but I am embarrassed to tell people that as of late. The problem with Rick Riordan is that I love the first book of every series, but my interest soon peters out as Rick is trying to pump out content to give us an ending. The books were too long and there were so many filler chapters because there were so many POV characters that I skipped most of the chapters of the characters that weren’t attached to the overarching plot because I was so bored in the last three books of HoO. I hate how Percy and Annabeth are always players and we keep rehashing old cameos and character arcs. The Percy Jackson arc ended with The Last Olympian, and I wish it had stopped there. I loved Annabeth’s chapters in The Mark of Athena and The House of Hades, but otherwise, I was upset that the series didn’t follow Jason, Leo, and Piper (I didn’t like Frank and Hazel outside of The Son of Neptune). I wish The Lost Hero was a one-off POV that lead into Annabeth in The Mark of Athena and Percy/Annabeth in The House of Hades. I read the last three books for Percy, Annabeth, and Leo (favorite character ever), but I was disappointed by Leo’s rushed love interest that became irredeemable after The House of Hades and I can’t get myself to reread the books past the first two. The Last Olympian was such a good ending that I hate that he had to reopen the can of worms that was Percy and Annabeth’s character arcs. My favorite book is The Sword of Summer and I loved the first Trials of Apollo, but I was so disgusted by the succeeding books of Magnus Chase that I have stopped reading his new books. After looking back and reinterpreting old plots (think: The Son of Neptune washing out the River Styx, Nico in The Blood of Olympus having a crush on Percy), I got angry at the way he specifically inserted characters into the books to make them diverse. Alex is the name of the gender-fluid character if I’m remembering correctly, and I loved her character, but the Valkyrie being a hijabi Muslim didn’t make sense (I get her family and her struggle with finding out the Norse gods were real, but it doesn’t make sense that she still believes in her religion when she’s a freaking Valkyrie). I hate the pop culture references that were already dead by the time the books came out (looking at you, Heimdall), and it seems like he’s desperately grasping at straws to make the books relevant that they age so very poorly. Percy Jackson I loved because the humor was random. Lately, he prints his own money by rehashing characters, reinterpreting plots, specifically inserting diverse characters in unstrategic or unnatural introductions or places, and dating his books with specific and obvious pop culture references (the deaf and dumb elf Hearthstone is Pinball Wizard). But to make you less mad at me, here is my ranking of the books that I have read best to worst (I don’t remember Kane Chronicles lol): The Sword of Summer The Last Olympian The Lightning Thief The Lost Hero The Hidden Oracle The Son of Neptune The Battle of the Labyrinth The Titan’s Curse The Sea of Monsters The Mark of Athena The Hammer of Thor The House of Hades The Blood of Olympus
TECHNICALLY, this isn't every book Rick has ever written, it's just his children/teens books. He wrote some adult books before Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
I mean, I did say I left out a few like the novellas and guides etc, so I did clarify that it wasn’t a list of literally everything he’s written just all the main books from his main series!
i love the Rick Riordan universe. The Percy Jackson series changed so my life so much and i love them!!
