Me & my sister received a similar normal call from normal number (that doesn't seems like scammer),
They said, 'आप के पापा ने हमे 10k भेजा हैं, आप को भेज ने के लिए', and later that exact number's sms pops up of amount credited..... But again call from same number saying ' हमने गलती से ज्यादा amount भेज दिया, बाकी का आप यही number पे gpay कर दो '.
And the most scary part is that they know the names of of our family member.

Then he dialed the same no. again and said that I'm in police station.. please talk to the Inspector incharge..they cut the call and also blocked my father's no.

Similar case happen with me, and that time i was living in delhi for my higher education, and my parents were there in jharkhand, and same thing they told to my parents, and demanded ₹100000, and my parents were totally shocked after hearing this, and they immediately call me but unfortunately the exact time i was taking my coaching classes and not pickup the phone for almost 2 hours, and they were completely shaken after once myself not answering their calls, but after their continous trial i pick up their call and they started crying and said beta kah hoo tum, i told mai coaching mai huu, then only they have taken their breathe of relief....
. I am resuesting everybody , if anybody get same call please complain it to near police station...

This call is so typical to a call my father received some time back. He received a whatsapp call too, and the profile picture had an image of a police officer. He told my father that I'm in police custody because of raping/harrassing a girl. What made the matter worse for my parents was that I wasn't beside them at the time of the call, so they started panicking and called me multiple times. I was shocked to hear such an accusation, honestly. I was so disturbed. It all felt so real. But as some time passed by, with some reasoning and cross-questioning, I was able to put the pieces together and realise it was all a scam. Additionally, that person never called my father again.
Such calls are becoming more and more common these days. This father's composure is truly commendable though, something that's not readily available.

One such call came to me a few years ago.. even my father got nervous.. but I tried to act calm as I was innocent and soon found out the only way (the phone number was jumbled up in that screenshot to make it seem similar to ny phone number) that could make my father's voice strong enough to question the scammer..
