Another well done review. I think you're the only one on UA-cam right now to cover this model it's larger sibling.

Just bought 2 of these for a 13x13 foot room as I have 2 cats whose litterbox is in the room (my bedroom) and they work amazingly. Honestly in hindsight I only need one as it one alone completely eliminates litter and cat odor to the point that I don't smell it at all. I am more than impressed by these little purifiers.

Thanks for sharing your experience. With two cats and 3 letterboxes (one per floor) in our home, I can relate. 😃

May I ask if you know of any comparable air purifier that has an air quality sensor for a smaller room? I do like this one but I realize it doesn't have the air quality sensor. HPA 3300 does have that but it seems to be too large for my room size, which is about 250 sq. ft.

We also have a small Oreck Air Response Air Purifier (model WK16000) which has an auto mode and air sensor.

I have the large HPA3100 model as well as this HPA3100B model. As you pointed out, the smaller model lacks the Auto mode, which I miss. It might be overkill, but I might get the large model for the room currently using the small model.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s never a bad thing to oversize AC’s and purifiers… they’re not like a heating system that can over cycle.

Well done review but...I'm a smoker. Does this machine eliminate cigarettes odors?

Sorry, but I don’t know for sure. It does a decent job with cat and cooking odors though. Perhaps someone else will comment on that.

I just bought this one as it was the only available in my home depot. Got it because of the smokey air here in california due to the fires. I am dissapointed to learn that the S filter won't be available til fall. Tbh, I kinda want to return it :( I have asthma and live with a green cheek conure.

I’m with you on that! I was disappointed to find out the S filters weren’t available after getting this as well. Seems like false advertising IMO. The great thing about Home Depot though is they have a great return policy. Try it for a week and if it’s not helping you and the parakeet (I had to google that 😃), return it. 😃👍

Did they give a date for the S filter?

They said fall of 2020 when I asked, but no specific date. 🙄

So the S filter is for the smell? I just wanna clean up the air as much as possible, the filter should help some right? (CA fires 2020)

Good review. I bought the HPA3300 (biggest model in the PowerPlus series, 530 sq ft) for our offices and personally bought one for my studio apartment. The bigger unit comes with three true Hepa filters, but they are small. There's a lot of unused space within the unit that could've been used up by one big filter for the HPA3300. Sure it's a stronger unit, but I wish they went with one big filter. Thoughts?

In addition to the HPA3100, we also have the HPA3300. Of the two, we prefer the HPA3300 since we can run it on a lower speed in a small room and achieve faster turnover with less noise. I agree that it would have been nice if the HPA3300 used one large HEPA filter instead of 3 small HEPAs. My guess is Honeywell figured it would be easier for retailers to stock a single HEPA filter for all models in the series instead of 3 different ones. Too bad they didn't because I bet it would have further improve the already impressive CADR ratings. The HPA3100 is not nearly as impressive as the HPA3300, and the fact that it doesn't have an Auto mode is disappointing.

Should I use it on turbo while I'm sleeping? All night long?

    • @BruceAlanR

It will depend on what you need and the conditions under which you run it. We run it in auto mode when we sleep since Turbo mode is rather loud. Auto is adequate for our allergies, but we also clean (dust, vacuum) the room once or twice a week.

Right?! He’s up to 3 packs a day now. Have to run the air purifier around the clock. 🤣
