"All the people i was kissing,
Some are here and some are missing,
    In the 1990s"
As a gay man at that time, you FELT that and understood exactly what he meant. 💔

As someone who two years before this song got told he had only 2 years to live (as many gay people were told) this at the time hit me hard knowing I would be one of those "missing" people. Little did I know life had a different plan for me...

That part always brings a little tear to my eye. BB is one of the those songs you can just groove to but you can also sit and listen to the words and its just so huge...it covers the whole of life in one song. ❤❤

I was in my early 20s when this song was out. The older I get, the more meaningful and melancholy this song becomes. ❤

The video was directed by photographer Bruce Weber, which is why it has that ‘Bruce Weber’ look & a ton of models

Such a beautiful, melancholic song. Maybe you have to be a gay man of a certain age but this song brings me to tears

Neil told this story about how Axel Rose went backstage after a gig they did in LA, and he said "but why didnt you played Boring man? I love that song" and i found that so beautiful, how music can unite people that apparently are so different, but can have a union in music. And now i listen your story about being so young and the bicycle adventure in the middle of the night, and it made me think how melancholic this song is. Plus, the album, Behaviour, is just one of their finest work, a jewel from the 90s.

A great reaction (as always), but I think some research about this song would have helped the boys appreciate it even more. Neil Tennant had in mind the death of a friend from AIDS when he wrote this song and wanted to say something about how we change as we get older. As one critic put it, it’s ‘one of the greatest songs written about mortality and memory’. Invisible is another beautiful, poignant, thought-provoking song they recorded about the effect time passing away has on us.

One of the greatest pop songs of all time. A quote from the 20s used for a party invite in the 70s and then the older, wiser man of the 90s looking back. But where is his friend who he imagined would always be somewhere by his side? The answer is very sad and worth looking in to.

Apparently Axl Rose was a big fan of this song. So much so that he was disappointed that they didn't play this when he to saw them in concert. Pretty sure everyone in the video are models. Well, apart from the Pet Shop Boys themselves...It's a Sin, So Hard, Always on My Mind, Suburbia and Jealousy are all great. The boys are still going strong today.

Hey guys... Thanks for taking me back to my younger life... Lots of the folks in the video were scenery in my life in NYC in the late 80s and 90s. The director was bruce Weber, famous fashion photographer.

This song (on its release) was a wistful, blissful remembrance of younger carefree days. And for many this means days when friends were not ill and dying. regularly. Thirty years later the bliss seems even more remote . . .

When this was released as a single it missed the top 10 only reaching number 15. When the PSB went on tour they didn't include it in the set list and fans booed and complained so they had rush rehearse it so that it could be an encore song. They found out that even though it only reached number 15 it is a confirmed fan favourite and to this day it is always on every PSB tour set list. They always perform it for their long time fans. ❤❤

It is a great song. I would love you to react to other PSB gems like "West End Girls", "Suburbia", "It's A Sin", "Always On My Mind" (an awesome Elvis Presley cover done the right way), "Domino Dancing"", "Rent", "What Have I Done To Deserve This?", "Heart", "So Hard" and "Jealousy".
These are my favorites and someone should propose a Weekly Top 5.

I like you to see you react to the Pet Shop Boys - Heart (1987) music video. It has a young Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf, Magneto) playing Nosferatu.
    And the song is fab!

I remember, in 1986 when I first heard a song by them. The song was Opportunities (let`s make lots of money) and it was like nothing I had ever heard before. Their sound was amazing, the voice of Neil Tennant, one of the best pop voices ever, they looked so cool and the video was also something completely new. It`s still one of my all time favorite songs and videos.

For some reason that remindef me of the period we all wore silk shirts, reaĺly light flimsy diaphinous silk, which soaked up zero amount of sweat so when you came out the disco at 4 if you still had it on you could screw it up and squeeze the sweat out, but it ruined the silk. Those were good nights.
