  • Over the course of four days, 36 middle school students from the Renton School District had the opportunity to engage with public safety professionals from 14 different agencies. The students participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including a combat challenge, drone demonstration, vehicle tours, building searches, fingerprinting, and observing a Guardian One helicopter land. These activities facilitated the building of positive relationships with the public safety professionals and provided valuable lessons in safety, life choices, and potential career paths.
The King County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with our partners at the Renton Police Department, Newcastle Police Department, and DEA, are dedicated to serving and connecting with our community, including our younger members. We recognize the importance of fostering positive relationships at an early age to ensure a healthy community, and this program served as an excellent launching point.
We extend a sincere THANK YOU to all our partners and supporters for their contributions of resources, time, and invaluable lessons, which had a significant impact and helped create unforgettable experiences for our young community members. This initiative would not have been possible without the support of Renton Regional Fire Authority, Port of Seattle Fire Fighters, American Medical Response, Washington State Patrol, Port of Seattle Police Department Latent Unit, FBI, ATF, Department of Homeland Security, and the IRS.
