I love custards. I love Mielle custard. That's one product that didn't feel producty in my hair.

Custards are definitely one if my go to products. They tend to work great on me hair. It's so interesting that it doesn't feel producty on your hair! Definitely good to know. It goes to show how everyone's hair is different ☺️ I'm just curious, what's your hairs porosity? I wonder if that's part of it.

@@Linas_lovelylocks Well, I think, since I never colored or straighten my hair, I believe it's very low porosity on the top section, where it's mostly grey and the rest is medium porosity. It is interesting how it reacts differently to other people's hair.

I think they all turned out really nice. I've been wanting to try the mielle but i dont like the tacky feeling after, so I'll skip it. Also, I like the way you compared them in this video 😊

Yeah the Mielle one was a hard one because the results were pretty good, but I also don't like the tacky feeling.
And thank you for the feedback ☺ I appreciate it

I feel the same way about a lot of Shea Moisture products. I think my hair looks good but my hair always has a film on it that I don't like and don't get with most other products I use.
Good to know the Mielle feels that way. I've never tried that brand before and probably won't (mostly because the creater of Mielle and her husband reached out and harassed a small youtuber who didn't leave a favorable review of a product line).

Those results are great, I think they all work well for your texture. Thank you for explaining, I did not know what a curling custard is. How does it compare to layering a curl cream and gel? I only ever used those.
I do not know any more products you can test, besides my beloved hask curl cream. I tried the cantu cream, but I think it was a bit too heavy. I did use it on coaser hair and it did work well for her. That was a long time ago, maybe the fomular changed.
Also what might be interessting is styling techniques. Have you tried the rake and shake method?

Thanks for your question! I would say the benefit of a curl cream/gel combo is a little more customization. You can pick a more moisturizing curl cream if your hair needs it and a harder hold gel if you like those. A curl custard is a really good choice if you don't want to have to worry if two products pair and only need light moisture and light hold. Though you could definitely layer another gel over a custard for more hold. I also find custards are really good for clumping and they have really good slip if that's something you need.
I find the Cantu curl creams are a little heavy too. Part of why I like the activators. But even those you have to be conscious of how much you use. They are pretty rich. So I'd suggest going in with less than normal.
That's a good idea though. I have thought about showing different styling routines on my hair type, but it could be interesting to compare them against each other in a video. Thanks for the recommendation. ☺ I do actually have a video (probalby almost two years old at this point) where I do the rake and shake method. I used it for about a year as my go to routine.

Have you tried Shea Moisture coconut and hibiscus Gel Souffle ? I find it to be quite long lasting and gives me day 3 even day 4 longevity...will have to try these other ones you recommend.
