Hier is so paar Suid Afrikaners hier in Tumut en ons vang Karp hier regdeur die jaar. Moet nou ook sê ons is in die minderheid want die meeste Aussies vang nie Karp nie maar ons geniet die feit dat hierdie basies ‘n skoon dam waar dips en geure nie regtig Baie saak maak nie. Sien uit na die kompetisie en om die Proteas hier te hê.
@Barry @Sakkie just to enlighten you re dips feed etc in Australia. No shop in Australia is allowed to sell any product that promotes carp fishing due to the ridiculous laws re carp. When I lived and stayed in Australia back in 2016 to 2018 my friend Wicus Fourie and myself were going to try and promote Twin Series there but no use if we couldn't sell anything. Jumbo sent me a courier package so I had a couple of basic dips and floats for there. The guy who started Bank Angler Australia (Frans) does make feed, floats and dips but can only distribute between the various bank angling clubs in the various states in Australia. Frans is also an avid fighter of introducing the carp virus into Australia as it will kill and destroy the local fish and ecosystem as well. The guys in the various bank angling clubs have special permits to keep the fish in nets at their monthly comps and then release them afterwards. With social angling you are not allowed to release carp, their is a $1500 aussie dollar fine if you get caught. Wicus and myself used to release all our carp but we were always aware of our surroundings to not get caught. The Protea team must remember that there are South African shops in Australia. We were fortunate enough to get Moirs Caramel and Almond there and also various colourants at Coles so I had red, yellow and floro Almond and Caramel in my box. Honey is also freely available so I made some nice ball dips as well.
My friend Wicus Fourie is in the Australian team fishing against the Proteas as well as Frans, Neil, Schalk Kok etc to name a few. We used to fish at a dam called Cherry Lake in Altona Melbourne, it's about the same size as Kleinfontein Dam in Benoni. We used to catch beautiful carp there. Unfortunately after I left Australia there was a chemical spill and all the fish died, they removed 70 tons of carp from that Lake 😮😮
