I’m surprised you connected it to the upper hitch on your dual hitch extender. I thought the upper hitch is weaker and only meant for lighter duty things like a bike rack, etc.
I gave it a test with a jack, I havent seen any stress or rust, I needed it higher and a little further from tailgate to open trunk, setup has worked 3 years at least

made it from parts at hardware store, and welder
How do you unload it into water and load it back up from water lol?
I back up at boat launch to until my rear tire is about 2-3" deep and its slide off into the water and reverse that for reloading.
