Hi all! Is it the same Tristan Avakian that played on the We Will Rock You musical and the awesome Red Dawn (1993) album? I love that album - and this video is really well explained too
Sounds absolutely amazing. Great job Tristian Avacian. ❤️❤️
*Avakian 😉😊
Thanks for the demo. I am very excited about this device. I love my Flyrig 5 but that VOX sound is something special and a must have.
That sounds ace, Tristan... in a tribute myself and love learning about the gear that other 'Brians' use for backup/fly rigs... always a pain in the ass having to compress your normal rig into essentially hand luggage! You made this sing - brilliant demo!!!
Great job Tristan!
I'd love to hear this head to head against the UA Ruby, they came out around the same time so it'll be interesting to see how they compare.
Pete Thorn, who has subbed for me in Ultimate Queen Celebration, did a short video on it that sounded great. But he'd sound great playing a cheese grater through a milk crate!
@@tristanavakian Or a milk jug through a blender.
that things sounds great!
Flat out nailed it.
Is this the schminky item you got? Really interesting to hear what it does. That volume quality was markedly noticeable on hearing all the notes and type of sound. Thanks for sharing!
These are some great high gain tones actually.
As a complete dolt about making music on the guitar, this is an interesting tutorial about the new gadget you're trying out here. It gave me a little insight into what makes your musicianship work with bands as a whole and how you're creating different sounds according to the music needs. I like finding those sounds when I listen to music. Learning how it can be used (packing lite - just in case) is fun to know, too. Thanks for the free insight!
Well, it’s been an interesting journey for me, too. I came up in the 80s when everything started getting programmable. You could suddenly get a lot of different sounds with the push of a button. When I got the gig playing Queen music in We Will Rock You, they gave me an amp with just one knob - that’s always on 10, and you can probably guess which one it was! I had to rethink my approach completely. Really good experience to basically go back to the 70s and get all the sounds from the instrument itself instead of doing it with a lot of button pushing.
For this music I need a device that is simple - that will do it all without ever having to touch it once it’s set up. This fills the bill.
And I may not be using it as my A rig, but when you are the sole guitarist in a band playing for up to ten thousand people at each show, you need a backup. If you’re worried about your gear you have a horrible time. It’s good to know this thing is right there if needed, and that it’s basic but bulletproof.
@@tristanavakian I love learning the behind-the-scenes info that makes your sound so great. 😊
mine hasn't shipped yet, but i am expecting to get the shipment e-mail any day now. ( very torqued to plug in and fire it up )
i have always liked Brian May's guitar sound, and Tom Petty's heart breakers era guitar sound also...i didn't make the GZ-34 rect AC30 connection there until recently.
love that i can get that sound in analog...uses less power, and nothing drives me nuts more than latency.
i have a dry solid state amp, and i think this is really going to warm it up and bring it alive.....and it's also nice i can swap into my interface, or go direct into a PA desk.
Tech 21 is a great company - they make compact, reliable no BS devices for professionals. Slips into a pocket, does what it says on the tin, no bloody computer in it - will never let you down.
i whole hartedly agree ....mine is the centerpiece of my pedal board, ( solid state amp warmer )...i was shocked at the amount of tube amp-like signal compression, really happy with it.@@tristanavakian

Great video. Was this recorded direct to a mixer?
effectively, yes. Into an interface and DAW with no additional processing. Bone dry.
Whoa! Sweet sound!
Though I still wonder if it's the gear or the guitar player. 😉
Well, it's like a car. Whether you have a Kia or a Bentley, you still gotta know how to drive.
@@tristanavakian True! The "does it Queen" question though is what separates my grandmother from Ken Miles. (Some people know how to start the car, while the "pros" know it inside and out.)
