We hailed from County Kerry and County Mayo. I've been to Ireland once back in 2002 for about 2 weeks. Absolutely fell in love with her!! Looking forward to return visit someday again. Great channel!

We run swale rams on the benbulben flock every couple of years, it's a good mountain though. Down in Gleniff where they are is slightly poorer so we stick to the hardy Mayo. There's a demand for genuine Mayo breeding sheep so I usually sell a few per year!

Say I'd the mother had twin lamb and one was a ram lamb and one was a ewe lamb and u took the ram lamb would the mother not get mastitis or something or have only 1 spin next year ?
They're all singles up there, the twins are kept down on grass for the summer. Good point though! All would probably want to be weaned at once by right.
@@ewetube.videos I know from watching SheepGame that there is a wool board or something to which sheep farmers send their wool. Do you have something like that in Ireland? We used to have wool "pools" in the US but I think they're all gone now.

My family has a farm in SW Wisconsin and while we're from Norway I always felt so close and support from other farmers in the area.
All that wool would be amazing yarn for knitting and crochet.

How do you find shearing the replacement ewe lambs? It's not something we've done before.
I find it good Eamon, less chance of them getting stuck in the winter particularly.
Are they raised for their wool? So beautiful!
Ah meat and as breeding stock for other farms mostly Elisa, the wool is worth very little!
