- Got a different head. Cracked like my old one but already repaired. So far so good with this one. Narrowing in on fixing all the bugs and little things.

Nice job !!
Awesome tractor !!
Thanks for sharing!
Good job, Dan! Also, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that has had issues putting on the lower water pipe. It's more difficult than I thought it would be!
Sounds good bud!
Good job.
Well, another adventure with this '47 B. Now I am finding some coolant in the #1 cylinder. Any obvious reason that might cause that? Good video Dan, thanks.
Crack in the head or head gasket. I'm not sure how you could diagnose which one. Either way you have to take the head off, you can just have it checked when it's off. Not sure when it was last apart, but you could check the tightness of the head nuts. Good luck.
@DanielFarmChannel Thanks Dan. Will let you know what I find.
that little rattle in the engine when you are slow idleing the tractor. does it need a valve adjustment or is that normal. i ask because mine sounds just like that.
Perfectly normal. It's just the tappet and push rods assembly. There is a 0.020 gap per the manual, so they literally tap.
@@DanielFarmChannel yeah knew it was valvetrain noise just wasn't sure how normal. Never dove into it because well I'm a Chevy guy they have valve noise lol.
Have you seriously thought about using an alternator, charges better at lower rpm. If you do, change to a volt meter. Looks like the rear wheels are on backwards. The lugs & nuts are on the inside, change/remove tires and wheels and you will understand.
I like to keep things original, so no, not thinking about an alternator. Also for the wheels, that is typically how they were. They were only sometimes reversed for cultivators and wheel spacing. I agree it would be easier to take them off that way, but that occasion is extremely rare and I don't like the looks of the cast being backwards.
