I was traveling across the country years ago when I pulled over to rest a bit in the middle of the night. Shortly after dozing off, my 5lb chihuahua woke me, barking furiously. I looked out to see a man at my window peeking in at me. I immediately drove off and called the authorities. Thank God for my tiny terror for potentially saving my life.

As a trucker myself please understand there are entire orientations that teach us about how to contact “truckers against trafficking” so that we can help do our part to end sex trafficking and report suspicious activity. Most of us out here help where we can although the industry has definitely gotten worse with all the egotistical and self centered people that have been taking over, people blow past the speed limit not being safe, truckers barely look after each other anymore much less the public…

It’s so scary this hasn’t changed. Years ago, over 20, I was almost a victim of one of these killers. Thank goodness my dad was in a separate car and was watching the man when he started trying to talk to me at the rest stop. Once I got back in the car and went to get back on the highway, the trucker cut my dad off on the ramp. My dad got back behind me, and then I started hearing a noise soon after resuming driving. This was before cell phones were able to be used all across the country, so we were on 2 way radios. My dad decided he didn’t want us to stop to check out the car because we weren’t that far away from my Michigan apartment. We had to drive at least another 30 minutes, and all this happened at night by the way. When we did successfully pull into my apt parking lot, my rear driver side tire was completely flat. Then when we went to open the trunk, the whole taillight assembly fell out on one side. I was young and I didn’t realize the gravity and seriousness really of the situation, but my dad who I rarely saw tore up was really really upset by all of it. My dad had seen the man at the rest stop go out of his way to walk by and behind the car I had gotten out of. Given the flat and ripped on taillight assembly, my dad surmised the man had sabotaged my tire and yanked on the taillight so he could easily track the vehicle from behind. And once I pulled over for the flat, he could also pull over and then do whatever he was gonna do. At any rate, I still thought it couldn’t have been that until my dad called me months later and said the man was on the news being arrested for multiple homicides while driving across the country. Only then did I realize how close I had came to being abducted. The only reason my dad had followed me on that particular trip was because I had been in a car accident the week before and was in another family vehicle and my dad was just concerned about me. If I hadn’t been in that accident, I would have been driving my route by myself and I would have stopped that night. This was the only time besides my first trip to Michigan for college that I had a parent also come. I am saying out of probably 25 trips or so this was one of two trips where I wasn’t alone. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I also believe I am here to let young women know how dangerous it can be driving by yourself.

When I was 23 driving to Georgia from VA. Basically I was chased by a man in his 50s approximately in a small white junky Ford ranger. It looked spray painted. He had salt and pepper hair and mustache.
It was terrifying because he was so angry I wouldn't pull over and stop on the side of the highway. I wasn't that stupid. I flew high speed, speeding to an exit and got off into a business highway. I remember it like it was yesterday 😫😩😫 I'm now 55

Thank you for telling us and I’m glad you’re here to tell us 🤍
To the other ladies: If you are traveling alone (for any reason) maybe there’s someone who could go with? And if not, windows rolled up, doors locked, weapon ready, and do not stop for anyone because women and children have been used to lure people.
You are not the police, you are not a superhero: call the authorities while you keep it pushing (and that’s if you see someone flagging you to stop/help).
Even on one tire, try to go as slow as possible until you get to the next county/area and pull up right in front of a gas station or repair shop. Don’t get out until you are around SEVERAL people.

    • @AmandaPanda83
      @AmandaPanda83 3 місяці тому +30

    • @AmandaPanda83
      @AmandaPanda83 3 місяці тому +28

@@wordwonderland I want to add to that do not stop at rest stops if you can help it. Try to always pull off an actual exit and go to a gas station/convenience store or even a McDonald’s. The rest areas are particularly dangerous if you are a woman traveling alone.
And I suggest carrying AAA. Or have roadside assistance with your car manufacturer. It isn’t too awfully expensive, and it can save your life by sending an actual professional to help you out if you have car issues. You can sit in your car, secured, and wait for help to come. It is much safer than getting out of your car to personally check on something and you have any and all types of random people that will stop. You can never fully know intentions, and this is just rolling the dice.
Edited to add : if you are ever in a situation where you are pulled over and broken down, let family know by text or voicemail immediately. Let them know your approximate location. And if you ever have a stranger stop to help you, try to grab a quick photo of them and also send that to family.

I’m in my 60s now but when I was in my late teens early 20s I hitchhiked 39,000 miles around the United States. I went coast to coast several times north to south borders several times and everywhere in between and I was picked up by a lot of truckers. Most seemed like really good guys, which, in reality they are.But there’s one guy that stood out that I still have uneasy feelings about to this day. There was a person in his sleeper, covered up under blankets and I rode with this guy for well over 75 miles and that person in the sleeper never even moved a muscle. Never made a sound never moved a leg nothing. at one point we were talking and I said I liked this and that for hobbies and he looked at me and he said yeah I pick up hitchhikers and hang their heads in my barn as a hobby. I laughed and he never did,and he never gave any indication that he was joking. He was a strange person and I had bad vibes from him the minute I got up in that cab. He just kept making this weird low volume sound over and over and over again under his breath as we were traveling .We pulled into a Union 76 truckstop (Old timers will remember those lol )because he was low on fuel and I got out and hung out in the truckers lounge until he left.

The main purpose of CEOs isnt to run a company, it's to take the fall when a company fucks up and make their customers/investors mad. When that happens the CEO then resigns and gets a severance. The company then gets a new CEO and a "new direction" so the customers shut up. That's why they get paid so much, and it's why a CEO can resign after "ruining" a company, only to be immediately hired by another one.

We have life saving truck drivers. I’m from Springfield, Missouri. My husband, at that time he worked for the RailRoad. And he was transferred to billings Montana for about six months. It was really hard on us. I made about four trips to Billings, Montana. He made more trips because he got more time off. But those trips were long and hard and I drove them. Everyone of them drove I didn’t fly. I wanted to see the scenery in the beauty of it. But I didn’t know how dangerous it was either. As I was leaving Montana in September. Just crossing the border. Without any warning. A blizzard hit. I was absolutely terrified. I could not hardly see my soul was a trucker up in front of me. And all I could see was the stack. And the black smoke coming out from the stack and I got behind that. In the truck was blowing snow all the way around me. I got close enough. Where the snow was going past me instead of hitting my windshield. Then all of a sudden I saw lights flashing behind me. I’ve almost got tears in my eyes, talking about it now. Another trucker got it Behind Me. And they kept me safe in between them too. Until we got out of the blizzard. I think God for them to this day. I was in a small Kia Sportage. And that wind was blowing so hard. But between the two of them. They called it the cradle, I was absolutely safe. God bless them truckers. For keeping people like me safe from the road. They knew I was by myself. You can tell they were talking to each other because if I got off the road a little bit that trucker would follow me and get me back in line. Who is Behind Me. God bless the truckers. They got me home safe.

I’ve often travelled across the country with my dog. I thought it was a good idea to stop at the big truck stop/gas stations thinking they were safer.
Then while at these areas heavy dark creepy feelings keeps up while walking back & forth to my car & taking my dog out for a walk, as I look at the lines of parked trucks. It’s confusing, because you would think, more people, more lights=safer….but my gut always vehemently argues this. I swear, it was like it was saying, “ruuuuun”. I thought I was just being paranoid.

A few weeks ago my husband was driving home from work at around 11pm. He was on the highway and said two cars got in front of him and started driving side by side. They then moved enough for him to get through, get off the ramp, and they followed him. There’s a long open road before hitting our main road, one of the cars drove right next to my husband and one right in front. Keeping him from moving out of the way. When they reach the main road and my husband has to turn right, the car in front of him turns right first and abruptly brakes on the damn corner almost causing my husband to crash, but he avoids him, goes around and starts driving around to lose them.
He didn’t see them anymore after that, as that main road has tons of traffic, a school on the corner, a gas station a business, and close to a hospital. I’m sure they stopped following him because there was now way too many people around.
Really pissed me off. Thankfully my husband can be a reckless driver if need be and he was able to maneuver so well.
This could just have been a coincidence, but the problem is you never know.

I've had 2 brushes with serial killers. The 1st is I went to high school with one of Ted Bundy's victims of the UW sorority killings. Making it stranger, years later when I attended college in Seattle, I rented his old apartment in the University district. That was a strange apartment; set up to make it difficult to leave and very hard to forcibly enter.
The 2nd is I knew Bob Hansen, the serial killer in Alaska when I was in high school; I'm an Alaskan native btw. This one is REALLY weird, and makes me glad I'm a man. Be advised that this is a long story.
When I was 15-16 years old, every weekend I took public transit from my house to my Taijitsu Sensei's house, which was on the other side of Anchorage. Going from Diamond lake to Muldoon if anyone's familiar with the town. I had half days on Fridays and I'd go home, get my stuff and take the bus downtown to transfer. Sunshine Bakery, Bob Hansen's business, was right where I had to wait for my bus; I always had a 20min wait. Well heck it's winter, and the place is open. I go in to stay warm and inhale a couple donuts, being 15 and all.
I'm at the counter, and I want a couple long johns but filled with Bavarian cream, which they didn't have. I can't understand why the baker lady can't take one, fill it, and charge me a little extra; being 15 and all. Well this other baker hears this going on for a couple minutes and walks up from the back; I'm 6'3" and Not a quiet person. He says something like, "It's okay Barb, I got it from here." I figure I'm not getting my way, but I Am Not ready to concede yet. Being 15 and all. We talk for about 5min, including why I'm crossing nearly the entire city when school ain't out yet; that I do this every Friday, stay 2 nights then go home Sunday evening.
He decides that he'll sell me the donuts as I asked but it'll cost .40 more. I'm willing to pay that, even though I was offering .20 more. This baker said he'd start having 2 of these ready each Friday, as I'm always going to be there. I get my 2 donuts and a couple others, pay, and jam to get my bus. I'm in the next Friday and my donuts are ready. Groovy, life is good.
    Don't worry, we're getting there ya'll
A couple weeks later, he comes to the counter at my arrival time and makes me 2. He says his name is Bob and the owner, then explains someone accidentally sold mine. Okay no prob. A few Fridays later I see My Donut is on the menu for Alot more! $1.28 each! I was paying .68! Bob greets me and says they're a Huge hit. But, I can still get them for .68 because I came up with it; from here on, every Friday he's there to talk with me until I gotta go. He was really nice.
A month or so later, my Civil Air Patrol group is called up to help the state troopers with body searches for a serial killer. We're going to help Saturday mornings, whenever we're called upon. We can't take our own firearms unless we're 18. Most of us weren't, but there were 6-8 armed state troopers plus a couple of the adult wing leaders heavily armed. 2 or 3 of the troopers had their M16s over their shoulder. In case of predators.....Kids are small and agile and can get into places adults can't, so we're getting into all kinds of places in the search grid. With state troopers close by. We were searching between the Seward highway and the Matanuska-Sasitna River. And every Friday I'm going for 1 night at my Sensei's house, stopping off to tell Bob Hansen everything.
One Saturday, we find 2 prepared grave sites. And something else. The cadet leader's son finds a couple of treelimbs on top of a burlap bag buried. We're come running to watch the cops check it out. It was old so I guess they weren't worried about some of the crime scene stuff, and we followed the path they came on. I was about 4ft away from the bag when one of the cops opens it. Right there in plain sight is a left forearm, wrist and hand. It was really cold, so there wasn't much smell. Plus alot of the tissue was gone. Aside from a couple of moans, it was deathly silent.
They leaders and troopers had us all fall in near the vehicles. Now, ALL the Troopers have their M16s unslung. They did a head count twice and had us sound off. Predators my 🫏....
I go to the bakery the following Friday and tell Bob everything. Never knowing. The following summer, I went out of state for summer school, so I could graduate early and go in the US Navy faster. When I got back home 6 years later, I find out from my friends that the Sunshine Bakery killer is my friend Bob Hansen. He was convicted on 4 killings and got life no parole. He later confessed to 18 and they're sure he did Another 31. That's how close any of us can come to a serial killer..... And Never Know about it, until it's all said and done.
That's what happened, although I left out the particulars of most of the searches. Have fun sleeping tonight!

The gut feeling is a weird thing. My mom worked an office job back in the ‘80s where this one guy just gave off strange vibes, and everybody felt it. After the Edmond post office massacre, she even started thinking through scenarios of what she would do if this guy got fired and then burst into the office on a murderous rampage, because he just “seemed the type.”
A decade or two later, she found out the same guy was put on death row for killing an officer and I think paralyzing another during a domestic violence call. Trust your instincts!

    Truck Stops vs Rest Areas
Truck Stops may or may not have working cameras. They are also privately owned. Owners or Managers at Truck Stops prevent cops from sitting and watching Truck Stop activity. It cuts into the truckers coming in to use the truck stop and spending money. It’s a protected crime area. Drugs and Trafficked people.
Rest Areas, usually dark, no working lights, no cameras cops sometimes hang out and watch activity. No one is running off the cops but it’s too creepy and isolated for most people to stop longer than a quick bathroom break.
Trust NO ONE. And I mean NO ONE.
Killers can be and look like anyone, lose your preconceived notions on what or who you think they are.
Remember this. They make themselves to be as approachable and as unthreatening as possible. They want you to feel comfortable to draw you in.
    A good looking fit person
    A feeble old person
    A disabled person
    A lost person
A lost person or needy person with a spouse or child
    A broken down vehicle
A cool easy laid back person
A thin or soft person just trying to help, offering friendly advice
A person with a baby or dog (animal)
My point is that lots of killers use trafficked people, spouse or child and work to lure others in they don’t always work alone. And when they do they will put on a show to draw you in.
    Listen to your instincts!
    Traveling alone?
Drive in the earliest part of the day and check into a hotel before sunset. Call the desk clerk and keep them on the line and have them look for you as you walk to and from your car. Prepare in advance and carry minimal overnight bag in with you to your hotel room. Ask the clerk to call you to check you made it inside your room safely. Use a code word.
Make eye contact and small talk at every gas station or store. Look directly into cameras and wave. As many cameras as possible. Don’t travel alone if you can help it.
Get a CCW and training. Exercise your 2A.

Don't hitch hike. Too dangerous. Also, be careful going to truck stops because if a trucker abducts you, you could be several states away before anybody even realizes that you are missing. One thing that they don't say here is that truckers themselves are prone to being murdered. The occupations that you are most likely to be murdered in is delivery driver, taxi driver, and truck driver. Each company I have worked at, I heard about drivers getting murdered. Twice, it was a trainer got murdered by someone they were training. The last company I worked at, I heard a woman at our sister company got murdered at a truck stop/casino close to New Orleans. When I worked at a company in Florida, I heard that a woman trucker had been murdered at a Pilot truck stop on the Southeastern coast of Florida. Fellow truckers, beware of our own kind.

One lead hopefully leads to another lead. It's important if you hear anything abnormal on p.c , speaker,or radio report it. They can refer back to the report and there might be a case that was cold which leads to criminals. I find it interesting in my cyber case that they are trying to hit speakers and elevators ect,but can't hack radio. Since I have an ear piece in ear it does block out the sound waves in area or surround sound. They cyber criminals don't know how to use an radio in regards to hand held for operations with a channel, which is old fashioned but they do know about radio channels on fm radio station and speakers / camera hacking.

I chose another route for my Masters and Doctorate after I was assigned to read "Two of a Kind" regarding the Hillside Strangler. It troubled me for weeks. The number then was as much as 5X higher than the one you have here. Around 200 primary witnesses to the assassination were murdered. Police in Texas would either be the assassins or they would assist.
MLK family never believed the real people behind their father's assassination were caught.
Inslaw software lawsuit against Bush Sr, Department of Justice had 16 witnesses that threaten to expose many scandals. All were murdered and silenced.
Powerful people can murder with impunity. Congress did nothing.

Perhaps the truckers need to leave tips for LE about suspicious truckers. But a lot of these serial killers are also driving RVs and campers, hanging out in state and national parks, too.
As for truckers, perhaps if human trafficking was cracked down at every truck stop, less truckers would be less involved in criminality, and would be more likely to report the suspicious activities by possible serial killers.

I find it ironic that the FBI always says they have information about this and that but never take action and afterwards they always mention that they were investigating this person or that person after the crime was committed. I hear it alot especially after mass shootings
Makes you wonder why they dont take action rather than wait until a major crime is committed.
