- Did you know that most Ginger Ales don't actually get made using Real Ginger... well at least ginger is not on their ingredients list. They all have Ginger Extract!!! We are going to make a simple ginger ale using real ginger and its going to be GOOD!

That's why I started drinking Ginger Beer, I need that ginger HEAT!
This has that spice you're looking for!
I only drink ginger beer
Ginger Beer is good
Thumbs up
Amen. But so much more expensive, so I switched to Canada Dry bold. On another note, Somehow the Seagrams 12oz in my work vending machine has 57, YES 57 grams of sugar. Wayyy too sweet. So I’ve gotta try this
Canada Dry used to have ginger until someone in Canada sold the company to Cadbury then to Keurig Dr. Pepper
Ohhh thats awesome!! I would love to know the Original recipe!! I bet it was great
Sauce Stache you just made the original recipe! As a former Product Developer for Cadbury/Dr Pepper the only thing that has changed is cheaper ingredients. The ginger extract is made almost the same way except that it is more concentrated using a distillation method. Look at the label. You’ve used citric acid in the form of lime juice. The only thing you didn’t use was caramel color, HFCS and preservatives. Unfortunately it, like all processed foods, it’s been cost reduced. As for the lawsuit, by FDA standards it still contains ginger and other natural ingredients.
Thanks for the information cause that's the only thing I drink outside of water, beer, and jack Daniel lol
@@msdarkstar44 well said men🙂
Great Information
Ginger ale with real ginger? You crazy maniac. Next you'll be making lemonade with real lemons.
Lol
I did do lemonade with lemon :) thats really great. You must try
I thought you had to be an actual ginger in order to make ginger ale....
@@tienphung4203 ever heard of irony?
Lmaooo
I just finished making this recipe and it came out awesome. I didn't have lime zest so I used lemon zest. Also, after slicing the ginger I put it in a blender with some water to really extract the flavor. This one is a keeper.
I make this all the time, but I add vinegar and mint to it. It is called sekanjabin. It is an Iranian drink meant to cool you off. You can also use honey instead of sugar. It is fantastic. I mostly don’t add soda water just tap water works fine. Sometimes I’ll mix diet ginger ale into it!
That sounds much healthier then adding all that sugar. I would not use diet ginger ale either because it has synthetic sugar which is just as bad for your body as any other table sugar.
That sounds pretty awesome actually
Nice video! If you want to get more flavor, skip the peeling, just cut it into thin coins and dehydrate it for a few days (or 1-3 hours in a 150° oven) , then powder it in a spice grinder. The more surface area, the more flavor you get. Heating removes much of the spicy and makes it sweeter, because it converts the spicy gingerol to the adorably-named zingerone. There are a lot of ways to play around with it, but that’s the fun part!
Thanks for the tip - I’m going to try this!
Great recipe man! When working in bars, I would make ginger syrup by blending 1part fresh ginger, 2 part Agave Syrup, fresh lime & cracked black pepper. Blend and strain. Shaken with vodka and mixed through with soda = perfect Moscow Mule!
What kind of Soda would you use?
@@carlosmartinezjr3501 its probably just carbonated soda water
After I made a home made ginger ale I decided to look it up on you tube. I did not scale the ginger first, and I added zero sugar. I did not boil it. I grated, cold steeped and poured it directly into a bottle of tonic water. It was perfect.
John Rokoski, thanks for your comment. That's the recipe I'm looking for right there! Easy peazy. 4:59
Here is a tip. you don't have to take the skin off, just clean them with a brush. Cut the ginger up throw into a blender or food processor and throw into pot with lime. Then with a chese cloth pour steeped contents into cloth and ring out. TA DA and you probably got a way more concentrated ginger too.
Mixed with some vodka would taste brutal.
Thanks man.
Right??? I personally like to mix it with some Beam! Hahaha
@@SauceStache Honey or even apple Beam would get along too.
Hmmm, what about a cocktail (or the non alcoholic version of them) lesson for the next video?
I guess people would like to see both regular and non-alcoholic version of popular cocktails.
Irken maniaK Dark rum and you’ll have the best ever Dark and Stormy!
@@mirandamom1346 Thanks mom, hahaha. I'll write it down just in case.
Every time I prepare it for someone else, I'll call it "Stormy Mom".
Thanks.
Im here for this whole comment thread.
Wow this looks delicious! I've always liked ginger ale, especially the really strong "Jamaican style". I'll definitely be giving this a try.
Like you are one of the most underrated youtubers I have seen, btw you should try to make some Ramadan -middle eastern dishes. Thx
WOW! Thank you so much!! Thats a good idea!
Is it alcohol free!? For children!!
Yes habibi
Ive been scouering the internet for good ginger ale and in all honesty, the only reason i trust you is because of your enthusiasm... love it
I just made this! AMAZING!!! I 100% recommend it, I don’t love ginger ale but I love ginger beer so I used less sugar and put more syrup to fizzy water
@Mediocre, now we're talking! I kept thinking about Ginger Beer. When I go to make this I'm going to make a real ginger beer and let it ferment.
Thanks a lot for this amazing homemade healthy recipe.
I guess that's why ginger ale never helped with my morning sickness.
The clinical trials showed no improvement over placebo levels for ginger in "vomit comet" human volunteer testing. Ginger is however an NSAID medication.
u needed to buy Vernors. its the only one iv found that actually has ginger!! prue Miagain baby!
@@Knight-Night Yeah Vernors is the best.
I knew Canada's Dry had no ginger....
I enjoy the locally made stuff...like it nice and spicy! Will definitely be trying this out
Ohhh you'll love this!! Its def a spicy one!! Let me know what you think
I should have realized, since my family makes a lot of ginger ale (no carbonation). Seagram has a kick and burn to it after the carbonation goes down, while the other two do not. That's how you know it's real ginger.
Ive been lied to why canada dry
Shadé Palmer not really. Seagrams has a higher preservative level which causes that burn. They have only increased the flavor level to compensate.
I never watch cooking shows. And here I am again. lol
Great video as always. No need to peel the ginger. And as you concluded, grating ginger is difficult, so chopping it with a knife or using a blender or someting similar is better. Though there is another type of grater that is commonly used in Japan (and maybe other places) that finely grates ginger to almost a puree with ease. Keep these great videos coming!
I use ginger, mint, lemon or lime, curcuma powder and honey no sugar.
Do you mix in the honey after it cools a bit? I hear boiling honey is bad? What is the ratio of honey to giner?? Also, what is curcuma? Excited to try this version!!
Just made this and my whole family is hooked! Thank you!
Mark that looks really cool and easy to make ! Great job !
Thanks Kent!! Yeah this is an easy one for sure!! ITs GOOD!
Friggin awesome! Tried it, loved it!
Homemade Kefir made with lemon & ginger is delish & good for an upset tummy too. Mandoline slice ginger. A pinch of citric acid (vit C) makes it last longer.
It's so awesome that you're inspiring others to make their own ginger ale! It's so much better when it's homemade! We just made a video on our version of ginger ale. 🥂
I saw it. You two popped off hard in that vid! with the ginger bug and everthing.
Great recipe! Thanks!
Made this using the recipe in your video! Taste amazing thanks 😃😃😃
I've always been a big ginger ale fan, but don't like the fake ones either. I just made you homemade concoction and it really is one of the best ones I've ever had. Thanks dude.
Omg I loved this! I need to try this😍😍😍
Emma its sooooo good!!!
I did, it’s excellent!
Love ginger
Wow, looking real hot Emma
First class video, great production. That Gingerale looks amazing. Happy to see your channel grow. I bet you hit 100k by the end of the year.
Will try it
Thanks for the inspiration! I will use a mandolin to get thin ginger slices. Love your videos!
thank you learned and tried this it is FABULOUS !
By far the most Stright forward recipe in all of UA-cam thank you!
I'm gonna try this Thanks
I love Ginger too!
Ginger ale, Ginger Beer (I love how potent it is).
Shoot, even making a Ginger wine right now
Idk why but I had no clue ginger wine exists that sounds so good
I'm definitely gonna try it!
Amazing I made so good thank you so much ❤
Looks amazing
Thank you!!!
I’m going to try this ! Awesome. 🤞😊
Wow!! I am so excited!!
Great stuff. Thanx. Im making it!
This is the kind of quality content ive been searching for
Aww thank you!!!
Thanks for sharing!🙏🏽
Thank goodness! For your help!!!!!
great energy. dig this guy
This is wonderfulllllll!!! Ginger Ale is my fav soda!!
Sick recipe! Thanks 💕
Thank you for sharing
I had Seagram's diet, and it was not my thing. I may try this though! I like the lime idea. Strawberries or other fresh fruit would make a really nice alcohol free summer cocktail.
Wow looks yummy
im about to make this today!
You've inspired me to try making my own ginger ale. My syrup is cooking right now and I'll be using ice mountain carbonated water. The next thing will be to use ginger to make a ginger bug and make more of a very low abv "ginger beer"
I definitely going to be giving this a try in the next few days. Have always wanted to make my own Ginger ale cause I think it would taste better.
Before adding in all that sugar and soda water you had a great ginger tea. You could drink it plain, add a little sugar, honey, or what ever like . Split into separate pots at start( one pot with the ginger and add some turmeric roots then boil the other pot with just ginger). Add ginger tea to other juices and chill. Add ginger tea to some cinnamon tea ( boil some cinnamon stick to get tea) would get ginger cinnamon tea or take one more step and add some hibiscus and boiled to make a Jamaican drink called sorrel. You can add your sweeter of choice and drink hot or cold. Has a lot of health benefits or if have guess and a little rum or liquor of your choice.
I tried it it fire🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just put handful of fresh ginger in my nama juicer with two limes and added coconut sugar and peirrier sparkling water!!! 😋 was better than the expensive Q ginger ale I used to buy.
I love this video. I am definitely going to make the ginger drink.
Man, how do you not have more views! I absolutely love your content my friend !
Thank you so much!!!!! I really appreciate that
Great video and great idea I really like your content, one of the finest and more undervalued, please go on and i hope the best comes for you.
Thank you so much, means A LOT!!
I use lemon/lime soda water with no sweetener, in the ginger ale syrup. Really good.
I'm going to try this ginger ale.
Looks nice and refreshing
Awesome thanks
Canada Dry was a staple of my youth as well! All those sick days and weekends at my grandma's house. Let's just pretend it works!
Regarding your quest to find a good vegetarian bacon: since going veg I like to cut thin strips of sharp cheddar, lay them out on a parchment-lined baking sheet, sprinkle with paprika/black pepper, and bake at 350 for a few minutes. It flattens right out, and when it cools it has a nice chewy bacon-ish texture (as long as you don't overcook it). RAD substitute in almost any recipe that calls for bacon, and it's ridiculously easy to make with minimal cleanup.
Hey! I just wanted to say that u r amazing ☺️ I only watched 2 min of this video and I am already an fan! So please keep on 😍
Sounds so good 😊👍
It was good!
Currently sick and drinking Canada Dry. I do have real ginger root in the house. All i'm missing is lime and club soda. Can't wait to try this.
Very nice!
Wow.. its really look yummy. 😋
You can even ferment it and make it real ginger "ale". Like it was back in the day.
I've always wanted to to try this!! I'll have to do it
Sauce Stache Please!
@@SauceStache / Fermentation is fun...you have to wait for the fruits of your labor and the anticipation is a loving game of patience. So worth it!
I did this with normal yeast and it was too bready. You have to get a citrusy yeast.
Michael Annino What’s the difference in taste? does it taste nicer?
You can improove this by not boiling the lime zest, it just turns bitter.
Peel all the lime and cover it in the sugar you include later. Let that sugar zest mixture sit for an hour or two. By that you get all the oils from the lime peel.
Mix in the lime sugar about 5 minutes before the ginger ale is done.
What's with the lime juice?
I add it 2 minutes before everything is done. By that you don't waste the lime juice. I prefeer that taste by far over a simple ginger ale.
Also, use a whisk, much easier.
To really get the ginger heat and aroma out, put the ginger throug a box grater and let the ginger sit in the water for atleast 30 minutes.
Bro you’re my hero for this
Great recipe! Real quick Wednesday’s is a great name 😊
Ginger does, in fact, help with sea sickness, motion sickness, upset stomach, etc. It basically works the same way as cinnamon in that it helps your stomach digest things (from my understanding). Crystallized ginger is the best way to use it as a medicine, though powdered ginger and fresh ginger will work, too. Ginger brewed into a tea is also good for your respiratory system. As for the soda -- the carbonation in it is pretty much what settles your stomach.
Thank You!!!
Washing the ginger helps make it clearer, i jus finished making it the way u did and tried washing the ginga down till i seen no white in the water
i just made this today ... I couldn't find anywhere ginger ale for my Jameson lol merry Christmas and thank youu !!!
This looks really good! But I'd even go as far as to blend all the ginger and mix it all in to the final product. Good for motion sickness.
Awesome video man.
Great video #Saucestachesquad! Keep the grind up man
You’re gonna be on TV soon man
I usually make mine by pureeing ginger and lemon or lime, then strain. I find blending releases the most flavor
Finally you make a video that isnt stupid. It was informative and i would actually do this
Ok I’m hooked, I’ve binge watched a couple of your videos including radish bacon and now ginger ale. Oh and last but not least the Water Melon Ham.
"these drinks don't have ginger they only have ginger extract!" proceeds to make and even call his own a ginger extract 😂 I'm sorry I'm not trying to be a jackass I just found it funny. Great video though 👍
Watching all your videos, then realizing you only have 52k subs, we're going to pump those numbers ! I think in one year this channel will be huuuuge
you can grate it like wasabi and you can easily squeaze our the extract/juice from that ginger, my dad has this tonic that he makes from ginger, lemmon and garlic and honey and its pretty potent and extremely delicious without the garlic.
You're my food hero.
Brewers Yeast added to the ingredients instead of club soda is the authentic way and it’s sooooooo much better. It takes a minimum of 24-36 hrs. But it’s authentic ginger ale/beer.
I leave mine for a week and it carbonates really good.
I used sodastream bottles and no carbonation. The brewers yeasted created carbonation.
Gracias por la receta. Lo voy a preparar pero para conservas.
Saludos cordiales desde el Bajío!
We drink Bunderberg Ginger Beer in Australia, it’s brewed using real ginger and tastes amazing
It's great, Man!!!
Thanks man! I tried this and it turned out to be way better than Schweppes!
He makes me happy🙌😂💖
Love it! My Dark and Stormy's are going to be killer!
Looks great. Can't wait to try it but I won't bother peeling the ginger - certainly for an extract like this is!
amazing video bro, and call soda stream
Helps with seasickness and car sickness? I heard that motion sickness is the same as seasickness, so honestly thank you for making this! I'll make a batch next paycheck so that I'm ready for my next Virtual Reality session. You're a saint, dear sir!
All these drinks have high fructose corn syrup, which is problematic. Here in Germany for example Schweppes uses regular sugar.
Diss & Dad but sugar can still be problematic at times since it can kill off both good and bad bacteria.
Here in USA our corporations hate our guts but want our $$$ so killing us slowly with HFCS is their way to go.
Great stuff, I'm a real sucker for strong natural ginger ale.
