One caveat that becomes more and more important for a solo cruiser who wishes premium accommodations: These 'special fares' are often for some of the lower 'basic' categories....not larger cabins or suites.

Huh? I don’t want a 100% single supplement. That’s just paying double. I can get on any ship for that. (Well, except maybe Celebrity, which I’ve heard charges solo travelers more than double. I want 50% or even lower. I managed to get on a Viking cruise with almost a 0% supplement.

Silversea is now owed by Royal Caribbean so beware. Up charges are popping up there more and more
