- On October 1, 2019, Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GDNR) and Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute responded to a call in Savannah, Georgia, and found an adult female manatee stranded on a sandy berm across a man-made channel in the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. The waterway previously connected two rivers, but the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is working to fill the passage in order to create wetlands and enhance river flow.
Rescuers were able to get the 10-foot-long manatee back in the water with help from a bulldozer from the corps' contractor Continental Civil Heavy Corp. CMA's Manatee Research Team fitted the animal with a satellite transmitter to follow its journey after release. Biologists are hoping the animal will move away from the busy port area in Savannah and go south toward warmer water in Florida for the winter.

Free To Be Wild Born To Be Wild
God bless you 😇❣️
I hope it was checked out by an Aquatic Veterinarian for Health reasons before release. It could have gotten sick from being stranded a long time. It may not have the energy to get back to Florida. They could have transported it to Florida by plane or vehicle.
I watch your Dolphin live streams could you have a under water camera for winters home too like nick?

First omg 😊
