"cameron carpenter"

magnificent
Very fun to watch. Hope the young ones had a good time. Cameron was amazing and Sarah did a great job with the interview. Outstanding!
I love the Pipe Organ! I am grateful for this, first time ever in my life, a tour of a Pipe Organ. Thank you! Sarah and Cameron!
I love hearing organs ,aboveall you beauityful women...❤😊
Giorgio Zanca, did you mean «orgasm» instead?
and Boris lol
Larry W Mayes thx
I remember when I was a kid and things like this were magic .
its good to make magic for children
Cameron Carpenter is one of the finest organists of the era. It would be fun to meet him and of course see his concerts.
I find it pleasing their mix of English and German, my first and 'second' languages.
Thought the same! although it's my 2nd and 3rd languages. :)

Speechless! I guess this is a unique and extremely expensive instrument. I hope the camera man was wearing suitable ear protection! Not the "normal" pieces one would expect to hear but there is no doubting Cameron's skills. I have no idea how you train your brain to this level. Once again l have to thank UA-cam for giving millions of us the opportunity to view and experience events and Interests we could never normally enjoy. Take care and stay safe.
No matter how you look at this. This by far Number 1. AWESOME! Thank You for sharing your talent. You are awesome by far.
Great to see him really having fun and happy.
About time they made an organ as nice to look at as a piano.
STUNNING An excellent educational tour for kids as well as adults as well!
This talented young lad gave a great educational & fun filled performance that can be shared by all those who have an interest about challenging musical instrument
That was really funny, well done you both! The children had a day they will remember! Great to see you with these kids, Cameron!
Yes but why is there not a single boy in the group of children
We need a lot more of Cameron Carpenter, yaa,,seriously he dares take the pipe organ to dimensions many would only hope to reach. He reached for and caught the golden ring.

....ehhhh, no, not really...
It is really great that they are trying to get kids interested in learning to play an organ, especially those who already play other keyboards such as the piano! I think that this is becoming a lost art, especially with all of the electronic music that has come on to the scene within the last twenty to thirty years, and it is time to bring this quality of musical art form back to the forefront, especially in today's churches, theaters, ballparks, stadia and arenas! It is much more pleasing to everyone than all of the "noise" that many substitute as music these days!
well, most digital organs have .mid files already preloaded for free-play... if you want to slow the tempo down so you can play it... or, slow it down to a reasonable tempo and push each highlighted key during the lesson (which is usually 3-steps)... keys will vary, but some will be hard to master like the key of Em7b5 or same key, but in F; so, that would be Fm7b5
Boohoo boohoo....technology is winning... Didn't you already make a comment?
We're so lucky to have a voice/advocate for this instrument. I hope we cherish Cameron's time with us and consequently realize how beautiful the pipe organ truly is!
so true
Saw him yesterday in Philharmonie..
He his a contemporary genius (and a hungry one !!)
didnt he was even making his own shoes, makes him even more talented.
Yesterday was six years ago. How does that make you feel?
@@Revansstuntdouble weird
I saw this organ in the thumbnail while I was looking for something else. It looked beautiful so I decided to check out the video and of course seeing Cameron with his mohawk had my full attention. The organ and Cameron are two beauties. I loved the tour through the pipes. Quite interesting.
Exactly how it should be , always . awesome
I like his image. That instrument is a full body workout.
Are you drooling?
Isabella Valentina lm drooling a little, I have an awkward looking face so it's normal.
I had the privilege of hearing Marie-Claire Alain play at the BP back in 1989.
Good God how OLD ARE YOU?
Undoubtedly a more enjoyable presentation than this.
The host of this show is so intelligent, speaks many languages so fluently and is so beautiful. I am in love with her.. beauty with brains and personality. my dream girl
What a smart and delightful woman.
Agreed, lovely in every sense
So cool that they organise those shows
One of the most amazing videos I see once in a while. Thank You for making this, keep it going. Really Awesome, I Loved it, You Are Awesome!!!!!!!.
Superb!
Thank you Cameron in this you play El Jarabe Tapatío, It is a folkloric song from my natal city
Ako vždy obdivuhodné!👌👌
this is one of the coolest vids ive seen in so long! good to see the appreciation of music.
You don't watch many videos do you?
This video just made me more fascinated about the pipe organ whoever invented it, was very intelligent.
Love to watch you as well as to listen to you play. Awesome
I am really sorry the church in NYC where Cameron is organist in residence burnt into flames last December, may we support him with our deep and sincere prayers!
BPO Organ~~! A rare event~ Thank you for sharing~~:)
Cameron Carpenter and especially Sarah Willis, check out Gillian Weir's performance in Holland on UA-cam! (It is under Wim Groen's channel and you just might get a good informative response from Piotr Porada)! Here she blows into a small (1' or so flue pipe, and a 4' pipe as well). She does this quite well, as in playing a conventional wind instrument! I am not sure, but the 4' pipe might have had a reed in it but probably not, I'll have to take a closer look, and it would sound at true 4' one octave above the standard 8' middle C, because it was open ended! If it was closed ended, it would have sounded at twice the size (8'), now this is a common way to save space and money, especially when going down to 16' and 32' pitches!
He is a super-star!
Gorgeously shot and produced!
Oh BS. It was horrible and you know it.
What a nice program for introducing the organ for child’s Great
hes a talented organists, but i have yet to hear him play anything that actually sounds pleasant.
this is not a thing about playing, but to explain to kids how an organ works.
@@austrorus It's always good to demonstrate while playing nicely
Here here
I certainly like him, but I am waiting for him to yet produce something not so rushed and not so Cameron style. Play a challenging piece nicely!
Sounds like a circus organ.
A pipe organ is the largest musical instrument in the world. I've heard that the pitch of the organ can change due to air temperature and humidity. Mr. Carpenter is a virtuoso.
Not just organs, but pianos, and grand pianos also. It's funny how ruff you can handle them, and they don't go out of tune, but air humidity is their worst enemy.
ah and the closest thing to Vergil Fox mr heavy organ himself, who some would say was the best theater organist of all time for his abillity to bring the insterment out, mr carpenter is real good, and almost as flamboyant hehe.
You are right, the pitch changes every time the air conditions (density, temperature, pressure or humidity) change. In fact, church organs have to be tuned at the end of the summer and winter because the pipes get out of tune when the seasons and temperatures change :)

and in America, we have been taking music classes out of school curriculums. Sad,sad, sad!
Yes, unfortunately, the liberal arts / humanities have been under attack by the very ignorant.
they will replace it soon with shooting and marching lessons...
Bass so natural and low it is made of wood. so freshh
This is why good earplugs are a good investment.
With that mohawk and love of overengineered keyboard instruments, he could be Look Mum No Computer's cousin.
Was watching a video on how to play the simpsons theme on the piano and now I’m in a loophole
That organ and player a big ‘Wow’!
I'll be showing this to my students!
They are going to hate you for that!
You don't know what you are talking about!
What fun. Thank you.
When he had to choose between virtuosity and musicality, he chose the first one. Only a small number of organists have both.
Pierre Pincemaille certainly had both.
Ausgezeichnet !!!
One of a kind this guy
lol- all this kids got a simpsons nightmare after this...
Organs sound beautiful and now with synthesizers the sound of organs can be played by many more people.
Synthesizers.. These days sampled organs are the digital way to go ;)
Blaa Blaa ho hum bore bore bore
Only me?? Or somebody else also thought that he could have played at least ONE beautiful song correctly, without trying to look like a honking clown?? Too much mocked, he actually only made noise, I'm sure he is talented enough to do a better and enjoyable job... I think even the kids thought he could have played better songs (and without clowning)...😝
@@Azchk 😭😭😭
Cool!
were those kids super naughty that they have to sit on the stage and listen to this :)
This is the way Germans torture children.
The Simpsons theme sounds very menacing on that beast of a thing
The MAD organist!!!
Something a little more soothing maybe..😂
For a moment I thought hes the carpenter who built it. Title so misleading
Grat video and I love Sarah Willis but how how on Earth does this organ dude play for the Philharmonic??
The most fascinating thing to me in this, which was never explained, was the complex-looking device on the wall to the right of where Sarah was when the kids let loose with the "quaking" blast.
+DesertTripper i thought the same!
+DesertTripper I would imagine that since this is a modern organ the console/keyboard is not manually connected to the pipes like the old ones. Therefore there is a lot of electronic communications and servos that open and close the valves to the pipes.
+DesertTripper could be wrong but I'm pretty sure those are the chimes
+DesertTripper That is the rollerboard which transfers the action from the keyboard to the pipes my friend.
That device is called reduction or transmission. Since the pipes are much wider than the keyboard, the reduction transmits the movement of the keyboard keys to the valves under the pipes on the sides of the organ that let the air into the pipes. It is a mechanism consisting of two vertical metal wires and one horizontal wooden cylinder per key. One wire connects the keyboard key to one end on the cylinder, and the second wire is placed connecting the other end of the cylinder and the valve. That way, when you press a key you can open a valve that is placed even meters to the right or left of the keyboard. That is for mechanic organs.
In this particular organ, where the console is connected to the pipe chamber with electrical wires, I assume that one end of the reduction mechanism is connected to a series of electromagnets instead of the actual keys. That way, all the electromagnets are placed together in an easy access place instead of all over the organ as it would happen if the electromagnets opening the valves were placed right by their respective valve.
Der Zauberer von Berlin... Fantastisch!!!!
for my taste what he does is more like hitting than playing.
Cameron Carpenter would make a good theater organist.
he basically is. He just plays on the wrong instrument without him even knowing it.
Superlativo !
Notice the swellbox's shutters moving on the organ!
Waa waa
I love organs
music is life and it is also a lifestyle
Are you having surgery to turn into an Organ?
the both of them were entertaining
Says WHO?
I was wondering who was taking Diane Bish's place.
K- Droid hopefully no one. She’s the queen of the organ :)
@@oklahomaletterpress6807 .... I'm surprised anyone knows of Dianne Bish's lol.
Bart Simpson
I thought I might not survive the introduction.
Amazing!!!!!
Definitely fun!
If you like hearing nails scratch across a chalkboard.
But why did Bach have 20 children? His organ didn't have any stops!
The best comment under an organ video ever! lol
Prima!
O.K. So Cameron Carpenter is obviously very physically fit and dexterous. I couldn't even move my feet that fast let alone place them on various notes. Similarly his keyboard skills are very impressive and I actually might enjoy hearing him play piano. HOWEVER, I've never heard any Organ video of Cameron Carpenter's where the SOUND excites me or engages me emotionally. There is more to the beauty of a Pipe Organ than just fast, Loud, LOUDer, and LOUDEST.
Give me Simon Preston, Diane Bish, Virgil Fox, or T. Ernest Nichols anytime. Among younger organists Gert van Hoef
is a rising figure.
Doug Marshall is not only a prominent organist but also uses his knowledge to design and build the Marshall & Ogleltree organs. They actually built a Touring Organ for Cameron Carpenter.
To me, Cameron Carpenter just likes to show off his technical skills and lacks significantly in musicality, more typically producing a lot of noise.
nice video! Greetings form Italy
Really enjoyed this!
When people in the Texas speak a mix of English and Spanish, they call it Tex-Mex. I wonder what it's called when people speak a combination of English and German? Germish? Englman?
Brendan "can you play Boogie Woogie"
The truth is that Cameron hated this organ. Then Cameron built the great B&O touring organ which he premiered at Methuen Memorial Hall. But then you all knew that.
I love how they keep switching between English and German.
I know right, it makes me want to brush up on my German!
Makes me want to learn German ...I like to know a little bit of each language just for salutations: Hello? Dzien Dobry, Hola, Sawaddee Krup, konnichiwa, kumusta, anyeong haseyo, xin chao, ni hao, etc.
kksd2
Have a go - we had a group of learners of various grades, and we played German scrabble with our teacher, and I read in German, have a beautiful old book of German poetry in Gothic script. It's great to learn another language, and her German is very clear and easy to understand.
Ja that has me zeitweise ein bisschen confused
Really? I found that quite boring.
you know it's a great video when the first melody he plays is the simpsons theme
Super!!!
Like to see Cory Henry play this bad boy
He wouldn't be able to, as great as he is.
The pipe organ is always fascinating but sadly this guy has the chops but plays with no soul to bring out the full majesty and tonal capability of this instrument.
I wonder how much that costs?!
His shoes have sparkles on them.
Sarah Willis,,, 1 sweet babe"
What is the last tune he played?
Circus act one!
Enjoyable & fun
For WHO?
