Since the midforties last century whe have lot guests from foreign countries in germany. The eastern part lerns russian after that, but all other kids in school lern english. Most strange oxfordaccent at the beginning, but later students explore, that there is more than the lift, the elevator. And you havn't rent a flat, if you can get an apartment. First I want to make jokes about her accent, but this Sarah is a US-born british Hornplayerin and wie ich lese, sie ist seit 1991 in Berlin at the Staatskapelle.
Hello Hello It‘s common among the younger, well-educated generations, although many have a noticeable German accent (while Sarah and Cameron have an English accent when speaking German).
I'm Dutch so I speak both German (everyone has to learn it in school, along with French) and perfect English so you can imagine my brain was even more fried.
Whether you are a CC fan or not....I really give him kudos for having the kids up there and introducing them to the organ and music. When I perform I always do the same thing...bring some kids up on stage and let them play some notes for the audience. I hope that the brief experience will ignite a spark of curiousity and maybe get another child to consider playing an instrument. I know in my case that is exactly how I was introduced to music 59 years ago.
I have some very strong views about Cameron, most are not complimentary but - it's a big but - you cannot deny his skill or his obvious joy at bringing these children to the organ. What he has done in this video is set an example that all must follow.
I knew it was familiar. I dont know if you play fighting games but theres an edited video with big band (all his moves play a note) and they played this piece.
Absolutely superb. What an amazing young organist and as for Sarah, well, such an amazing talented presenter as well as world-class horn player. Heroic!
I do not like Cameron Carpenter playing very much but I think that this program it's really "educational": easy to follow, nice humour, harmony in speaking together with Sarah Willis (a really good show-woman). I like it very much.
Cameron, you are an outstanding great artist on the organ. Truly you have command of the organ not visa versa. Your way with young people is genuine and you radiate kindness in your personality and in so doing make the King of Instruments likeable as well.
I love this organ expedition with Cameron and Sarah Willis. It's great to play and show the children of today great music and to teach them about the pipe organ. I learned a few things myself.
+David T People said that Liberace was too flashy... I have met CC at one of his concerts. The next day I was at lunch with my partner, and he was at the same restaurant, and was absolutely a joy to be around. He was not this pretentious snob that everyone seems to think he is...
yeah, and from what I can gather just by watching the various interviews he's taken, he is incredibly intelligent. I'd say genius. I have great respect. He's been to Sydney a couple of times, sadly I never heard him live, here.
He actually seems like a normal and dare I say it likable person in this - even kind of funny too. It almost makes me think that promotional trailer for his album was a parody - if it is, it's actually a work of genius. His playing is strange though - very messy. I don't know if that's "by intention", or if it's just a hard instrument to play fast. I'd be interested to see him play a piano or keyboard.
+Chris Plumb It's his way of playing. There's a video where he explains some stuff about how digital organs are going to be the way to go (especially for performers) and he actually plays a piano in that. Not exactly any different.
I love this evy time. When I was younger I went to organ chambers in some old ones in Chicago. This brought back memories. The guys I was with were good but nothing like Cameron. Thanks for posting this. Wolf.
Dear Cameron; Thanks. I'm writing this on Aug, 31, 2017 AD., after have seen this vedio number of times. In other words, I've been keep my 'eye' on you for many years now. (On the personal side, how are you doing ? I suppose you're busy beyond belief. Know that I wish you heaven.) And yet, I'm so grateful you are in our world. Love you. With Grace. CVD
I found amazing, loved it. now I know why Mozart did not have much recognition at the time, it was different and brilliant, temperamental and talented, traditionalists did not accept and does not accept this type of innovation. I love Cameron.
17:29 is it supposed to sound that dissonant...? Cool program but I have to agree with some other comments I wish he would slow down a little in his playing
He brings to mind the wonderful show pianist Liberace. Cameron in my humble opinion is a truly great organist but has sadly fallen into the commercial trap of pleasing the masses. Lang Lang of the piano world springs to mind. Now with both I feel if they bring more people to the world of organ or piano then this is a jolly good thing indeed. People like me who are purists should shut up and simply hope that those brought to the organ or piano may begin to learn and appreciate the truly great players of these king of instruments. Although my toes curl while listening to Cameron I have to bare in mind that many people who would not normally listen to such music are indeed enjoying his skills. Pray hope they begin to understand why I do not think he is really that good. Learn more about what he is doing and please go to concerts of deeply respected performers. Thank you Cameron for bringing this music to a wider audience.
I agree with the comments that he plays too fast. I listened to some Virgil Fox as well and the same comment was made about him. Diane Bish played the national anthem in 1:49, when Virgil played it in 1:09. I liked Diane's version much better. However, we all have our own styles when it comes to music and I certainly cannot play like any of these folks.
I may not be the greatest fan of Cameron Carpenter BUT what does make me happy is the engagement with the young. The organ needs new players and a new audience and I applaud Cameron's evangelism!
I stand by the assertion that you would be surprised how many young people like classical music, especially in Europe. In fact, there are probably more classical music fans now than there were when it was being written. My first sentence was supposed to mean that classical/organ isn't the only high form of music. There is heaps of high quality modern composing, just as there is heaps of high quality classical.
The German/English/German/English/German/English was awesome.
They are speaking *perfect* American English. Is it common in Germany to speak both German and English?

@@nswerhun: of course
@@nswerhun I don't speak german but I was told years ago from someone from Europe, that if you speak german you can learn english easily
Cameron Carpenter has a technical brilliance rivaled by none. He is the Virgil Fox of today. Hearing him play is a joy.
Discovering organs with children... Context is everything.
I speak both German and English and my brain was fried at the end of this video
I speak both so it was lovely
I dont remember my German. _Ich vergessen das!_
Me auch!
Mine too, but it was the big pleares to understand!

How impressive...…...great teaching for one and all!! Ausgezeichnet, ich hab' alles genoßen!! Vielen Dank!

In case you want to know, the music he plays at 10:50 is called "Bugler's Holiday". I played it with my band once and it's awesome :D
I knew it was familiar. I dont know if you play fighting games but theres an edited video with big band (all his moves play a note) and they played this piece.
Cameron Carpenter changed my conception of the organ. He is a Superstar! Bravo Carpenter. Greetings from Brazil. Thank you! Obrigado! Danke!

His humour is one of the top ten in the world... Gotta be
Her german is really excellent.
Cutting edge talented young organist pushing the envelope and providing marvelous education and entertainment.

A fascinating video and a great performer, those that criticise him for being to flashy or fast, well he is ABLE you are not.

@@RealRaynedance I really do not agree.
Watch him play Candide Overture on his channel, it's very, very clean. Not sure why he was this messy, maybe too much coke.
I love this evy time. When I was younger I went to organ chambers in some old ones in Chicago. This brought back memories. The guys I was with were good but nothing like Cameron. Thanks for posting this. Wolf.
I love how they go back and forth in language.
Bravo Cameron 👏
I recently listened to his concert. He is an incredible musician who has a rich inner world..
I love the Organ So Much!!!!
Would be interesting for Cameron to do some of his work as a movie soundtrack.
15:34 I used to have a pipe organ at our house!
This is awesome. great to see music being introduced to young kids in such a casual, informal, engaging way
I have been in many organ lofts in large cities. It is an education to go. I love seeing young musicians experience that!
its so good program planing. so interesting.
Love the interaction

He is it now. Fantastic !!!
Listen to that solid gold pacing and technical proficiency.....
Outstanding!!!
This is a treat. Cameron has a place in the whole of the organ and he is attracting new interest to it.
Cameron has insane control over the instrument.
Beautiful!
Wonderful, I enjoy with this, first: I love music and musical instrumentos and I'm children's teacher too. Congratulations...
Beautiful organ.
Goosebumps.
I found amazing, loved it. now I know why Mozart did not have much recognition at the time, it was different and brilliant, temperamental and talented, traditionalists did not accept and does not accept this type of innovation. I love Cameron.
Mozart had recognition, and Haydn even more so. Beethoven did too. They revolutionised music.
This guy as an absolutely amazing voice.
Beautiful! Thanks! :)
17:29 is it supposed to sound that dissonant...?
Cool program but I have to agree with some other comments I wish he would slow down a little in his playing
Such an enlightening experience, well done!!!
no matter how he plays
It’s very good to educate children this way.
Btw I like his style. Somebody likes classic, somebody like morden, so what?
organ is indeed and extraordinary instrument
Superb !!!
This organ is top ten, gotta be!
This is the Berlin Philharmonie.
Brilliant!
Amazing and interesting !
Thanks
Cudowne, Wunderba, wonderfull, incredible !
He played amazing, I never see this before!!!!!!
Fascinating.
3:38 The Simpson’s Theme Song
Es ist sehr interessant. Danke!
I only can say: AMAZING!!
the loveliest member of the berlin phil... :)
Hearing him play always brings "Being for the benefit of Mr Kite" to my mind.
Der beste Teil of this particular video ist definitely die Tatsache, that this Junge can spielen.
14:21 And why organ?
I still ask that question.
I want to live in Germany now
MAESTRO......LEI E' UN GENIO !!!! COMPLIMENTI !!!!!
Great for my Homeschooling :-)
I love it so much! Cameron is great Person! :) PH
The language swapping here is just as amazing as the organ.
Awesome and gawjus too x
Magistrale , innovativo , non ho parole !!! :-)
Love it!
2:47. When my dad when he goes No. 2 and No. 3 XD
9:47. When my dad really gets it out XD.
thank you so much CC :D so educationally ~
Thank you! That was wonderful to watch and to listen to!
Four years old!! Oh my God!!
Kings of Öffentlichkeitsarbeit...
Very Fun.
Sarah Willis did a fantastic job AND in two languages! Not familiar with Sarah, but great job on this!!!
I think getting kids to love organ through their own music is fantastic. For me it was the Star War Suite.
9:47 - sounded like Notre Dame in Paris :P

I think this may have been an "off day" for Cameron. Go watch some of his other videos and you will see how talented he is.

One of the most amazingly talented musicians in the world today
Cameron. Wonderful presentation! 07.04.13 Tom McCage,Loa
Amazing, amazing performance.. this is truly a Gem to see in such high-quality video :*}
Besides being a talented horn player, Sarah is also a great bilingual presenter! Indeed a lady of many talents!
Fascinating beyond imagination!
fun stuff
how lovely!
Cameron Carpenter is the coolest child of this kindergarden
someone please make this guy's life story I would love to know more about him
Even though he plays very 'loose' here, his other work is very tight and clean. Watch Candid Overture on his channel, it's flawless (and live).
Meraviglioso insegnare ai ragazzi come funziona un organo. Magari lo facessimo in Italia!
Hai mai visto un organo in una scuola??
No ma si possono portare i ragazzi dove c'è un organo!
at 3:36, i wonder just how many people in the audience knew what he was playinig, as they are in germany
The Simpsons are actually quite popular in Germany
Impressive
I love that she blows these pipes without hesitation. This is my kinda girl. Ja???
wow yes great english and german
Kann man solch ein T-Shirt wie Sarah Willis es trägt auf irgendeine Art erwerben?
Ich finde dieses T-Shirt wirklich sehr schön.
Viele Grüße

His pedalling is amazing. I would need 4 feet to do what he does with 2. Other than that it was just a bit of fun with the kids.
WHAT is he playing at 11:00 - I can't figure out what the hell it is! o_O
Leroy Anderson, "Bugler's Holiday."
