Put it down to awful management. They simply have no clue what they are doing.

A few things that might help answer this…..
They are skint, especially in Europe. They have bought and sold so many other brands and lost major money mainly in the European market due to our stringent rules and regs around emissions etc.
The bigger market share they have is the USA and the problem you have being a huge EV fan is that in the US it is the least of the issues in that Country. It’s not just down to the country but all states have diff rules and regulations and they are a stubborn nation who don’t like change.
Also, why fix it if it currently isn’t broken….the F range of pickups in the US and it’s only down 1.6% on the previous year. In the top selling 20 cars last year, there was only on EV….the model Y.
That market is no where near ready for the change yet and Ford are happy to keep supplying for demand.
I’ve said this numerous times, we aren’t ready in the UK neither and it will be pushed back again as the instructive isn’t growing quick enough.
In the USA it needs someone to change the game and bring something to the table to rock the EV industry and when you have crazy Elon bringing out the cyber truck, that is far too over the top for what is needed, the market will stay the same.
One last thing….you think there are too many EV none believers then you’re in for a shock in the US. 😂

Fords biggest problem was finishing off affordable car’s that were their best sellers like the Fiesta & Focus. EV’s are doomed to fail, you can’t make people buy something they don’t want.

Appreciate your comment but it’s time to admit defeat as I have done and involve myself in EV’s as I think we all know … ICE is eventually doomed. Sales of EV’s were under 1% of all new cars sold only 4 years ago but now it’s a massive 23% so to say nobody wants them is not factual. Ford have just not gone around it very well and so I cannot blame it all on Electric Cars.

Thing is they made no money on those cars.

@Steve-gc5nt With new investment no company makes a profit day one. Even Tesla lost money for 5 years. Now they make the most profit on any EV made today. This has allowed them to drop prices over 20% in 3 years which is good for consumers.

@@KKandEV Thanks for your reply but sorry the only reason EV’s have come this far is because of Government incentives & subsidies if they had to compete in a free market they would have already failed just as they did in the 1930s, this is not the first time. I agree with Toyota EVs will only ever account reach 30% of the car market inc Hybrids I did work for Ford for many years they have just lost their way but it is not with EVs at the end of the day the people will decide not Governments.

I had a 91 Taurus for 17 years and I'm still driving my 03 Taurus.
      Both dependable, comfortable cars.
I bought an Escape brand new in 08 and had nothing but trouble with it. Everything leaked.
I sold that and won't be buying another Ford.
